Company is a manufacturer of impact resistant windows and doors servicing the Florida market with annual sales of $72MM. Company is in a rapid growth mode, experiencing a 35% growth vs. 2015. Hired as Production Manager to strengthen management team and to assist in the transformation of the culture to a Safety, Quality and Continuous Improvement Environment.

Promoted to Operations Manager – Effective January 2, 2017. Responsibilities include Glass Operations, Production, Transportation and Customer Service.

Contributions:

Increased unit daily production to 730, an increase of 46%.

Introduced detailed Job Instructions and Safe Work Practices

Installed quality check points throughout process to eliminate customer quality non-conformances.

EAGLE LINE EXPRESS, INC.

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS OCT, 2012 – PRESENT

Company is a small family operated business that specializes in transporting general freight. Used previous career knowledge to open and operated a successful and profitable operation. Responsibilities include sales, marketing, P&L, purchasing, accounting and vehicle maintenance.

INNOCOR INC. (Formally known as Flexible Foam Inc.)

GENERAL MANAGER – HIGH POINT, NC AUG, 2014 – JULY, 2015

The largest manufacturer of polyurethane foam in the United States servicing national and regional manufactures of furniture and bedding. Also, sells directly to consumers via e-commerce. Managed 275K square foot foaming and production facility operations over three shifts. Generated revenue of $42MM annually.

Contributions:

Introduced LEAN manufacturing methodologies to team (5S, Kaizen, RCA, MUDA)

Set personal and departmental KPI’s for monthly review.

Built a competent team to achieve long term success of plant.

Increased OTC from 89% to 98%.

Recipient of Corporate Safety Award for Zero recordable injuries.

FXI (FOAMEX)

A manufacturer of polyurethane foam, supplying the bedding, furniture and automotive industries. Company has plants throughout the United States and Mexico.

PLANT MANAGER - CORNELIUS, NC MAY, 2008 – SEPT, 2012

Managed 350K square foot polyurethane foam manufacturing operation that generates $60MM in annual revenue. Promoted to Plant Manager in 2008. A two-shift operation with 7 direct reports overseeing a staff of 125+ employees. Designed and implemented programs to develop staff, improve safety performance and increase yield. Managed capital improvement projects in excess of $2MM.

Contributions:

Increased major customer yield by 4.5% within a 9-month period that resulted in an annualized saving of $770K.

Safety team building program resulted in a significant decrease in recordable injuries. Recordable injuries in 2002 were >35 and in 2009 the plant ended the year with zero injuries.

Continued drop in quality returns to net sales. 2009 results were .90%. September YTD average is running .41%.

Total plant material savings programs resulted in annualized savings of $2.2MM.

2011 CIP savings of $1.2MM. FXI top producer.

PRODUCTION MANAGER – CORNELIUS, NC SEPT, 2002 – MAY, 2008

Managed foam production plant and satellite fabrication facility located in Conover, NC with 5 direct reports overseeing a staff of >160 employees. Recruited by previous Plant Manager to assist in the overhauls of two failing facilities. Primary focus was safety, quality and an increased sense of urgency.

Contributions:

Introduced and implemented safety programs to increase awareness, housekeeping, and clutter.

Managed the transition of fabrication business from the Cornelius plant to Conover to decrease congestion, improve material flow and consolidate like business. Move resulted in a reduction of 12 employees and improved % on time to customers.

Designed automated production line, which resulted in a reduction in the work force by 36 employees. Payback on project was <1 year.

PRODUCTION MANAGER – ORANGE, CA 1998 – 2002

Managed highest volume Foamex production plant, which was a three-shift operation in a JIT environment. Serviced customers throughout western U.S. Plant consisted of >250 union production workers, drivers and maintenance personnel.

BRANCH MANAGER – SACRAMENTO, CA 1994 – 1998

Responsibilities included managing distribution center and local sales. Branch distributed LTL products manufactured in southern California to northern California and northern Nevada accounts.

TRAFFIC MANAGER – ORANGE, CA 1989 – 1994

Responsible for the transportation of goods from plant to 9 regional plants and distribution centers averaging 40+ truckloads per day. Supervised 22 employees that consisted of 3 supervisors and 22 drivers and warehousemen. Managed private fleet and also responsible for contract carrier negotiations.

SPORT CHALET INC.

DISTRIBUTION CENTER MANAGER 1987 – 1989

A retail sporting goods company with 10 outlets in Southern California. Supervised Warehouse Manager, Distribution Supervisor and 39 hourly employees in DC and satellite warehouse. Reported to VP of Operations. Responsible for $6MM inventory and controlled flow to stores averaging $2MM weekly.
