Indirect Spend Project Accounting (ISPA) is the major SAP initiative to transform systems and processes enterprise-wide. ISPA uses Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to manage and coordinate resources, information and business functions for Target. The ERP Target selected to facilitate this change is called SAP.

Before SAP, Target's financial systems were built to accommodate existing business needs. As needs changed, additional systems were developed to meet specific requirements. The set of systems and process grew and grew, making integration more challenging. An initiative called TGT$100 was rolled out in 2010 to replace end-of-life financial systems and related processes with SAP. As of August 2011, TGT$100 was retired as a program, leading to the new SAP Domestic initiatives such as ISPA.
