My initial position with Whirley’s was in assembly where I worked as a machine operator. My position included packing, quality control, spin welding, and mold injection operating. I was later promoted to line leader for two lines of assembly. As a line leader my responsibilities included; filling out packing and routing sheets, maintaining supplies to keep the lines running efficiently, motivating fellow employees to reach production goals, and instructing new hires on job responsibilities and safety procedures.

When the new label machine came in, I was the first one entrusted to run it safely. I was also able to perform most necessary equipment maintenance and trouble-shoot any problems.

I also served on a new idea committee as the only representative of the assembly department. The idea committee sorted ideas to be implemented, tested potential ideas, created graphs to gauge results, and then instructed others on better operational procedures. I also received numerous recognition awards for implementing ideas in regards to plant facility safety, quality control, new product suggestion, etc. that was later used to boost business, quality of products, and plant safety.

I worked as a PMT (machine operator). I was responsible for running a full line that includes the injection blow mold machine, a vision tester, spray booth, accumulation table, leak detector and a palletizer. My duties also included testing the jars, some maintenance, cleaning, data entry, quality, product inspection etc.

I worked the front desk and absolutely loved it. I greeted customers, checked them in and out, answered phones, completed night audit, paperwork, breakfast, reservations, cleaning, and everything else in between. This can be a stressful job when all the phones are ringing and the lobby gets filled with a busload of people, but with my great people and management skills, I found it to be a fun challenge to quickly and efficiently handle everything and with a Real smile on my face.
