. Responsible for cleaning, processing and sterilizing of surgical instruments, patient care equipment and reusable medical/surgical items (Crash Cart, GU Carts, Ent Carts) for the Operating Room, Labor and Delivery, Emergency Room, Cath Lab, Breast Center and Out Patient Services throughout the hospital according to department policies.

. Implement both universal precaution and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

. Operates and loads sterilizers (steam auto lave, eto/gas, sterrad, steris and ultrasonic machines.

. Assures biological attest and Bowie Dick tests are correctly performed, incubated, read and recorded. Assures sterilization records are completed by recording all items processed. Making sure the correct label/load stickers are being used.
