Performs periodic testing reviews of the compliance control framework as directed by Compliance Monitoring and Testing (CMAT) management, and assists in the reporting of related results designed to assist HNAH Compliance in identifying deficiencies and other issues impacting compliance controls. Regulatory Compliance Advisory Surveillance

•Key role in interacting with other lines of defense including Business Management, Business Risk and Control Manager (BRCM) and Internal Audit.

•Review and advise on new and or revised business strategies, initiatives and projects including meeting regularly with business management to ensure that the compliance function is engaged in the process.

•Advise business management and the BRCM function to ensure that appropriate compliance programs, policies, procedures, and other controls are in place.

•Serve as liaison between business unit/region and compliance on related issues from parties such as Audit, BRCM, Compliance Testing and Control (CTAC), Regulation Coordinators and Regulators.

•Provide business unit management with adequate reporting and MIS regarding compliance related activities and initiatives relevant to the business and its operation.

•Establish a consistent, risk-based approach for Second Line of Defense reviews of BRCM internal control monitoring activities on either a Periodic or Event driven basis and to encourage Effective Enterprise Risk Management (EERM) within RBWM Regulatory Compliance.

•Implement a process to promote First Line Monitoring which should facilitate an overall understanding of the effectiveness of the controls, ensure they remain robust and provide assurance on the quality of testing being performed by the BRCM’s (Business Risk Control Monitoring).

•Work with Regulation Coordinators, the RMA, Conduct Compliance, and the Regulatory Liaison Office, to inform and advise business unit management and MIS Strategy on current and emerging changes in regulation and the potential impact to the business.

•Escalate any significant compliance issues and trends to business unit senior management, HNAH Compliance management and Group Compliance, and if applicable, engage the regulation coordinator, appropriate legal team, and BRCM utilizing the IRIS system.

•Administer early identification of testing weaknesses (e.g. sample deficiencies, poorly worded control descriptions or test plan, elevation of exception materiality) and Subject Matter Expert (SME) oversight.

•In conjunction with Regulatory Liaison Officer (RLO), provide on-site business unit support during regulatory examinations and advise the next level in the Group Compliance structure, Group Audit and local Internal Audit, of the dates of inspections by local regulators and to provide copies of reports received.
