CAREER OBJECTIVE

Seeking a job opportunity as a Mechanical Engineer in an esteemed organization in the field of Turbomachinery and Energy Systems in order to give support add values and achieve new and goals, by applying my professional knowledge and leadership skills, and at the same time to advance my career.

EDUCATION

Università degli Studi di Ferrara, Ferrara, Italy:

--PhD in Mechanical Engineering (sponsored by a scholarship) Jan 2014–Present (ends on December 2016)

--Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Thesis at SDSU, CA, USA) Oct 2009-Feb 2013

--Bachelor degrees in Mechanical Engineering Oct 2005-Jul 2009

EXPERIENCE

-- Università degli Studi di Ferrara, Ferrara, ITALY Jan 2014-Present (ends on December 31st)

PhD student: i) Slashed primary energy consumptions 13% of a commercial building application by analyzing and modeling in Matlab environment innovative (renewable and CHP) and traditional energy systems performance. Minimized the net present value by means of an economic analysis in the Italian scenario

ii) Identified and quantified the main performance characteristics and instability phenomena of an aeronautical compressor in stable, unstable (stall and surge) and off-design conditions (inlet fogging, wet compression) by designing and setting an experimental facility which allowed opening partnership agreement with some Oil&Gas Industry companies

iii) Evaluation of axial thrust generated in a centrifugal compressor during instability phenomena by modeling in Matlab/Simulink the dynamic behavior of the compression piping system (partnership with a U.S. Research Institutes and a U.S. company) in order to being able to determine potential damages to the close clearance components

-- Consorzio Futuro in Ricerca, Ferrara, ITALY (partnership with the University of Ferrara) Jul 2013-Dic 2013

Freelancer engineer: i) Performed prototypes of centrifugal pumps and fans, manufactured from private companies, by achieving and setting suitable test rigs and their dedicated data acquisition systems

ii) Selected new measurement sensors for the laboratory with a higher level of accuracy in order to acquire more reliable performance data from experimental test rigs

iii) Designed and carried out a CFD analysis of a centrifugal pump which fulfilled the client request

iv) Supervised the Thesis project of students about to graduate (Bachelor and Master Degrees) giving guidance and reviewing the technical errors

-- Engineering and Service, Padova, ITALY Mar 2013-Jul 2013

HVAC Designer: i) Assisted the studio by designing the hydraulic, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems of civil (houses) and commercial building (offices) applications after an accurate choice of the best suitable solution, in accordance with the clients and respecting the standards

ii) Supervised the work-in-progress by frequently visiting the construction site and checking the current status of the work

iii) Carried out a consulting activity in order to fulfill the needs and demands of the studio client

--San Diego State University, San Diego, CA, USA Jul 2012-Mar 2013

Research Student: - Developed the MSc Thesis project (sponsored by a scholarship and the collaboration with the University of Ferrara) by designing and setting an Organic Rankine Cycle test rig with its data acquisition system in order to recover energy from a ultra-low grade heat source and evaluate the performance (research activity)

-- Università degli Studi di Ferrara, Ferrara, ITALY Apr 2009-Jul 2009

Research Student: i) Developed the Bachelor Thesis project by designing and assembling a new support structure for a hydraulic piston used for multi-axial fatigue tests

ii) Carried out stress analyses of perforated plates and cylindrical pressure containers for external clients in order to choose the best solution and to satisfy the needs and the requirements of the specific applications
