Quality Manager/Sr. Quality Engineer (2000-2011)

Quality System Management – Established systems for compliance to ISO-9001 and AAR (Association of American Railroads – Rail Industry). Systems include implementing policies through operator level documentation and maintaining the systems and all documentation since their creation. Worked with QS-9000 and TS-16949 requirements for automotive product lines.

Managerial:

o Supervised Receiving Inspection Operations. Ensured that purchased components and materials were processed in a timely manner and conformed to specified requirements to support Manufacturing Operations o Supervised Metrology Lab operations ranging from one to four technicians. Lab functions included control of measurement equipment for all operations, dimensional releases and outsourced component qualifications. o Assistant Plant Manager for locomotive bearing remanufacturing operation. Duties included personnel supervision, Lean implementation, production planning and quality assurance. (2000-2003)

Statistical Techniques – Implemented real-time Statistical Process Control system to monitor dimensional and metallurgical parameters.

Trainer for SAP ERP implementation for Quality Management functions. Quality Engineer (1993-2000)

Auditing and Corrective Action – Led the company’s auditing program and corrective action program from 1993 through 2011. Determined the areas of non-conformance and ensured corrective actions were implemented. Extensive experience in Root Cause Analysis.

Supplier Development – Worked with Purchasing Department in identifying, developing and monitoring suppliers for bearing components.

Product Development – Program Manager for company’s integration of polymer components to replace steel components in the bearings. Developed FMEA’s as necessary for both products and processes.

Customer Relations – Worked with customers in complaint resolution and ensured compliance with customer specific requirements.

Developed job descriptions for technical personnel for company’s implementation of the Hayes Personnel rating system.
