Summary

Alwarappa (Ram) Sivaraman as a Principal Technical Consultant – Piping & Pipelines System Engineering brings in 15 plus years of professional experience in onshore upstream/ down-stream as well as offshore pipeline systems.

PMC Experience and knowledge in the pipeline survey, Right of Way, Federal and State Regulatory Permitting working with vendors and regulatory agencies from design phase to construction of the pipeline for compliance (Offshore & Onshore). Good understanding of industry design practices, cost control requirements and procurement procedures. Sizing of main line (8” to 42” dia), laterals, flow lines and manifolds, high pressure wellhead water injection systems, utility water lines and water distribution systems for fire protection and pump station design, pipeline steady state hydraulic and water hammer or surge (transient) analysis and surge remedial measures. His technical expertise includes the application of International, American and European piping and pipeline codes and Standards (API, ANSI, ASME, ASTM, AWWA, NFPA, NACE, DNV, BSI and ISO) for corrosion resist material selection, specifications, assessment and recommended operating practices for Offshore & Onshore pipelines systems design, Pipeline Safety Regulations, Right of Way & Permitting and Compliance, Flow assurance, Leak Detection, Pigging, Hot-Tapping, Corrosion, Pipe Integrity and Piping Materials and Procurement. He has hands on Technical experience in the following:

Performed complex engineering, design, analysis, or other technical tasks utilizing current technology and available standards for oil and gas pipeline projects.

Developed design and execution strategy directly with client.

Performed front end studies and estimates and related design tasks with no direct supervision and minimal technical assistance.

Delegated many aspects of design to supporting team of process, facility, piping and instrument engineers. On behalf of client, direct supporting team to perform calculations and deliverables required, including detail design and calculations involving hydraulics and flow assurance, wall thickness, stress analysis, crossing designs, coating selection, HDD, PSV and equipment sizing, pump sizing and selection.

Performed back-checking of calculation results prior to issuing to clients. Select pipeline route and survey. Independently develop process drawings, pig trap design - launchers and receivers, pump station layout, pump sizing, compressor station layout, compression and other gas equipment sizing, meter/M and R station layouts, tank farms and terminals - piping layouts and pipe sizing.

Prepared materials specifications and procurement documents. Instruct and support team members on proper use of software, including but not limited to Aspen HYSYS, Aspen Plus, AFT products, Microsoft Visio, Mathcad. Apply working knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.4, and B31.8 in piping design and engineering.

Developed PEP and Prepared construction contract bid packages and construction specifications. Coordinate construction logistics and prepare commissioning plans. Interface directly and solely with client to determine schedule and required deliverable, including Block Flow Diagrams, Process Flow Diagrams, Heat and Material Balance, P&IDs, line lists, equipment lists and PSV datasheets.

Coordinated the development of process simulations, Basis of Design, Process and Control Narratives for meter stations, pipelines and facilities equipment modules. Direct supporting team to produce deliverables required on schedule and within budgets. Provide input to 3D models.

LDH Energy Company – Refined Products Terminal Project – Phase I-Evaluation, Design and development of a 23.5 mile (20”) pipeline to transport Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel, Mogas, and Jet Fuel from a refined products GGC Storage Terminal (1.055 million BBL) in Houston to Cedar Bayou tanks facility (Flow rate: 15000 BPH) and pipelines from the storage tanks to ship dock (15000 BPH) (20”dia), three barge docks (5000 BPH) (20”/10”), to rail loading and unloading rack (5000 BPH)(12”/10”/20”) (Ethanol and Ether), to truck unloading rack (1000 BPH) (8”/20”) (Ether and Ethanol). Evaluate the pump capacity, piping capacity (sizing- Hydraulics and Surge Study) and power requirements for transport (batch transfer) of refined products between production location to tanks and terminals safely.

Jamaica LNG Gas Transmission Project - Feasibility study of distributing high pressure gasified LNG product from a LNG gasification facility (ORF) at shoreline of Jamaica to several locations at different elevations: May Pen, Jamaica, Kingston, Mandeville and Montego Bay - Design and development of approximately 250 km (155 miles) (12”, 10” and 8” ) high pressure (1450 psig) gas distribution pipeline system. Tasks included pipeline steady state hydraulic analysis line sizing, pipelines data sheets and pipeline network optimization for moving 450 MMSCFD to different receiving stations efficiently, safely at optimum costs (Completed).

WAHA North Gialo Field Development (Pre Feed)/ Oil/ Gas/ Condensate (stabilized and un stabilized) Project – Design and development of 6 mile pipeline from Oil/Gas production well to Central Gas Processing Facility (CPF)(flow rate: 10,000BPD), 8 miles Oil export line (100,000BPD) to Terminal from CPF, 37 miles Gas export line (Flow rate:160MMSCFD) to Terminal from CPF and another 37 miles Stabilized and Un Stabilized Condensate lines (Flowrate:11,600 BPD) to Terminal from CPF. Responsibilities include pipeline hydraulics and surge analysis for safe delivery of oil, gas and condensates to the terminals (Completed).

Chevron Products Company South Africa, Project Phoenix- Design and development of pipelines to download Diesel and Mogas (ULP93/95) from a large tanker at Durban Dock to nearby storage tanks and then to a tie-in to a National Multi Product Pipeline (NMPP) (2 km) (16”dia) (three new pipelines) at a flow rate of 180,000 BPD that includes pump capacity, power requirements evaluation, pipe sizing and hydraulics and surge analysis for safe delivery between production location to tanks and terminals. Piping material study (material Class) for Corrosion Protection and procedures (Completed).

Hess Corporation- Bakken Field Development- North Dakota Goliath Pipeline Project - Crude oil, HP Dew pointed gas, LP gas, NGL, Produced water, Fuel Gas transport pipelines development from production well locations to the terminals or process facility- Feed to detailed design engineering. Design and development of approximately 24 km (15 miles) distribution pipeline (10”/8”/6”/4”) system. Tasks included development of Pipeline design basis; review and update Standards and Specifications, onshore pipeline ROW & Permitting and regulations compliance, Routing Survey evaluations, other pipeline corridors and crossings, pipeline data sheets, drawings; Line sizing, Hydraulic and transient study review, and pipeline network optimization for moving safely 60,000 BPD Crude and 30 MMSCFD HP gas to loading terminal and process facility respectively efficiently, safely at optimum costs. Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) North Kuwait- Sabriyah and Raudatain –Effluent water treatment and high pressure onshore water Injection project (EWTIP) FEED Project - Design and development of approximately 250 km (155 miles) high pressure treated water (3700 psi) injection System (Sabriyah 20”/14”/12”/10”/8”/6”dia) and (Raudatain-20”/10”/8”/6”dia) and source water from four gathering centers to 62 high pressure injection wells through buried HDPE lined distribution lines, manifolds and flow lines to avoid internal corrosion. Tasks included pipeline steady state hydraulic analysis, surge analysis, surge relief strategies, line sizing, pipelines data sheets and pipeline network optimization for moving 0.5 million BPD H.P treated water to 62 well heads efficiently, safely at optimum costs. Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) WARA High Pressure water Injection and Maintenance (WPMP) FEED Project - Design and development of approximately 675 km (420 miles) high pressure water (1400 psi) injection pipeline system (all HDPE lined pipelines to avoid corrosion) (South-30”/18”/6”dia) and (North-24”/16”/6”dia) and low pressure (230 psi) transfer pipelines (RTRP) (24”) from 30 source wells to 220 high pressure injection wells that includes pipeline steady state hydraulic analysis, transient (surge) analysis, surge relief strategies, pipeline sizing, data sheets, leak detection and network optimization for moving 1.1 million BPD H.P water to 220 wells efficiently, safely at optimum costs (Completed).

KOC Telemetry Project for Consumers Network/ Pipelines and Other Assets (heavy oil, diesel, emergency gas oil and crude transfer pipelines (20”/18”/16”dia) and high pressure gas pipelines (42”/34”/30”/24”/18”dia) to Kuwait’s four major power stations (Doha, Al-Zour, Sabiya and Shuaiba)). Responsible for the steady state hydraulics and transient (surge) analysis, data sheets, leak detection for all the existing, commissioned and planned liquid and gas pipelines associated with the project. Al-Khobar- Saudi Arabia RT Refinery (RTR) Expansion Project – Fuel oil, Gasoline, Diesel, Whole Naphtha, Light Naphtha, MTBE Gasoline Additive and Heavy Reformate) (Flow rate 236,400 BPD) – Responsible for hydraulics and surge analysis for evaluation of all transfer lines within the plant location and from process locations to storage tanks and to shipping terminals including developing strategies to ensure plant safety. Evaluate the pump capacity, piping capacity (sizing- Hydraulics and Surge Study) and power requirements for the refinery upgrades to handle increased production and transport (batch transfer) of refined products between production location to tanks and terminals safely. UAE - GASCO- IGD Expansion Project – Offshore/Onshore High Pressure Gas Pipeline Project – FEED. As a WP PMC Pipeline Lead Consultant successfully managed FEED engineering pipeline work performed by Fluor, Sugarland, Texas. The gas pipeline (42”) starts from Das Island in UAE and travels 117 km offshore (subsea) in the Arabian Sea (30m depth) and arrives at Ras Al Quila Beach Station and travels 107 km onshore to a new gas process facility at Habshan5 and deliver sour gas of flow rate1645 MMSCFD (designed to handle 2.2 BCF) at a delivery pressure of 1425 psig in UAE. Tasks included assisting the GASCO/ Abu Dhabi client in reviewing Fluor Pipeline FEED engineering and design drawings and documents work in the following: Offshore and Onshore Pipeline design basis; review and update Standards Specifications, pipeline data sheets, drawings; Hydraulic and transient study review, offshore and onshore pipeline routing survey evaluations, other pipeline corridors and crossings, shore approaches, for offshore pipeline on-bottom stability, buckling and stress analysis reports reviews, pipeline depressurizing and depressurizing studies reviews, launcher, receivers, sectionalizing valve stations reviews, pigging study review, construction and cathodic protection study and philosophy for onshore and offshore pipeline review, Tie-in study review, Value engineering, HAZID, HAZOP,SIL, Pipeline P&ID review, CRAS,MCA and BOW Tie – Review by maintaining fruitful communication between the following Stake Holders of the project: ADNOC, GASCO, ADGAS, ADMA-OPCO and ADCO (Completed).
