EXPERIENCE:

Student Research Assistant, Anjani Powder Research Center, Hyderabad, India March 2014 – December 2014

Experimented on different powder samples to find out different properties like bulk density, tapped density, porosity and angle of repose.

Compared the efficiency of conventional and uniflow cyclone, factors affecting the efficiency were determined. Engineering Intern, Reliance Industries Limited, Vadodara, India June 2014 – July 2014

Prepared a detailed study on Vadodara petrochemicals manufacturing division, Gujarat Olefins Plant layout, products produced and the operating procedures.

Monitored the Benzene Butadiene Hydrogenation Unit (BBH), was responsible for the production of benzene.

Determined the optimum conditions for a 90 KTA extractive distillation column by simulating and comparing results in CHEMCAD and ASPEN plus.

PROJECTS:

Biomimetic Robotic Fish March 2016

Manufactured a robotic fish using 3D printing, Soft Lithography, Laser cutting techniques.

Designed the structure of the fish using Solidworks software.

Achieved the biomimetic movement by using an Arduino controlled servo motor. Development of a Data Driven Model Based Composition Estimator for Multi-Component Batch Distillation June 2015

A neural network rate function (NNRF) model based state estimation scheme was developed.

The design and implementation of the model was evaluated in dynamic simulation environment.

The data required to train the black box model was generated by the simulation of rigorous first principle model of the batch distillation process.

Trained the neural network using gradient descent backpropagation algorithm. Design of an Extractive Distillation Column using CHEMCAD and ASPEN Plus July 2014

Designed and simulated a 90 KTA distillation column for the separation of benzene from hydrocarbon mixture using CHEMCAD and Aspen Plus.

Achieved maximum conversion of 99.62% by optimizing the input feed tray, temperature and pressure.

Utilized AutoCAD P&ID software to develop the process flow sheet. Chem-e-Car March 2013

Designed and manufactured a chemically powered car from everyday plastic waste.

Aluminum-carbon electrochemical cell of 1.52V was constructed and 8 cells were used to power the vehicle.

Calibrated a 555 timer circuit with required distance and used as the stopping mechanism. Study of Tangential Velocities in a Uniflow Cyclone December 2014

Fabricated a Uniflow Cyclone separator using flexible glass material and effect of tangential velocity was studied.

Increased the efficiency to 98% by optimizing the tangential velocity.
