MIDI stands for ‘Market Information & Distribution Infrastructure’. MIDI consumes the MDF stream (at the moment real-time only) from SIX Financial Information (SFI) provider. MIDI is made up of three components: MQA, ITFH (Feed Handler) & ITOD (Object Distributor) and it functions as an interface between Market Information and Application Host.
The WFO (Web Sphere Front Office) component processes the feed and puts the data into internal cache of MIDI. The object distributor components are responsible for passing the data to the MQ Adaptors (MQA). The MQAs are CS specific components for accessing data from the MIDI cache. There is one MQA for streaming requests and one MQA for snapshot requests. Access to the MQAs happens over Request-and Reply-Queues. Over the Streaming MQA a conflated stream is sent out.
The snapshot interface will be used by the YYMAKU program in order to retrieve price data from MIDI on request and streaming interface use by the VK71...88 price processing programs in order to update the P6C database accordingly.
