Industrial Engineer and Management

Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is João, i am ** years old and I am an Engineer gratuate looking for my first job experience abroad.

For the last few years i have been searching for what really drives me and how can i make a positive impact in the world.

The answer came to me during college as i started to learn more about process optimization, efficient resource management and waste reduction. Some natural resources are scarce and pollution will hit a threshold point, so humans must think how to re-adjust in a near future their businesses and lifestyles in a more sustainable way. I attended a Lean course at Lean Portugal Academy where i learned more about the Lean philosophy concepts and business needs to reduce waste. Also this course led me to an intership at Weber – Saint Gobain S.A. where i was charged with making a major re-design in their distribution center expedition area, specifically regarding warehouse structuring and picking process re-engineering, in order to make it more efficient with minimal resources. Also been part of a 5S project team and other minor kaizens while i was there.

Another great interest that i have is electronics, the ability that one can have to make his life simpler just by creating an autonomous system that can perform a specific task. To help me in this endevour i join the IEEE – Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, where i worked to help in several projects, learning along the way both technical skills like programming, circuit assembling and also soft skills, like leading a team, organize an event and public speaking.

Overall i see myself as a person that loves to pick up new skills that can improve my life and others’ and i’m not only capable, but also enjoy to work on multiple layers of a given problem from technical to managing level.
