Control of Work Coach

Coached in all aspects of Control of Work (CoW). Aspects of work include planning and scheduling, permitting, isolation management, risk assessment, job execution, monitoring, auditing, lessons learned and documentation. Additional duties include permit reviews and assessments for continuous process improvements and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) creation.

Hazard Identification Task Risk Assessment Coach

Coached and assisted in implementation of new Global Risk Assessment methods. Included but not limited to group and individual coaching, job surveys for risk assessment creation, and verification and final assessments for use in continuous improvement process.

Risk Assessment and Planning & Scheduling Auditor

Reviewed and audited daily CoW documentation to identify any non-compliance issues and/or errors in work execution. Information gathered was entered into a KPI tool for review and administration. Program was successful in identifying and reducing the number of common errors in work execution and additionally identified areas where training and/or knowledge of existing policies needed improvement.

HITRA (Hazard Identification Task Risk Assessment) Improvement Project Coach

Provided one-on-one coaching on Hazard Identification Task Risk Assessment program. Program consisted of role and responsibility based coaching for the HITRA mandates. Coaching initially focussed on Unit leadership (Superintendent) and included Asset Coordinators, Maintenance Coordinators, Shift Supervisors, Permit Coordinators, and Chief Operators. Additional coaching of Operations and Maintenance Technicians was performed with the primary focus was on Unit Leadership. Results were a better overall understanding of how the system works and the responsibilities of each role.

Sentinel Pro (Electronic Permit to Work System) ‘Go Live’ Support Specialist

Provided classroom training on Sentinel Pro, electronic based permit to work system, for level 1 and level 2 users. Additionally provided in-unit CoW implementation support and ‘Go-Live’ coaching as needed throughout the plant. Project completed after all units within British Petroleum refinery complex were on-line with Sentinel Pro. Individual coaching provided as needed.

On-site Sentinel Pro/CoW Support Specialist

Provided classroom training for Sentinel Pro and Hazard ID. Performed and coached Risk Assessment Specialists (RAS) in L2RA facilitation. Program successfully identified the need for and initiated a program to train RASs to support the overall program with internal personnel.

On-Site Training Consultant

Delivered classroom and in-field CoW program coaching and training for onsite personnel which included in-house British Petroleum and contractor personnel. Provided support in field auditing of WCC permits and Risk Assessments.

Routine Developer Standard Operating Procedures / Routine Work Permits

Assisted Operations and Maintenance teams in identifying and developing Routine Work Permits for frequent activities. This included but was not limited to review of existing maintenance procedures and policies to ensure proposed work scope met routine criteria as well as any and all policy requirements. Program was successful in identifying a large amount of work that could be performed on Routine Permits as well as eliminating several tasks that did not meet the established criteria or was not compliant to existing policies.

Intervention Coach

Delivered one-on-one coaching on HITRA (Hazard Id Program consisted of role and responsibility based coaching for the HITRA mandates. Worked with Unit Superintendents to achieve a better overall understanding of how the system works and the responsibilities of each role. Program was successful in increasing the level of appreciation and understanding of the HITRA mandates by the Unit Superintendents as to better administer and lead the efforts in their respective units.

Positions & Duties:

Instrument & Electrical Supervisor

Maintained full operational accountability for the I&E shop to include planning and scheduling of maintenance activities. Coached and mentored maintenance staff to ensure a fully skilled staff capable of responding to a wide variety of maintenance issues.

Instrument & Electrical Planner

Responsible for assisting Operations and Maintenance crafts in the development of short and long term scheduling of I&E jobs. This included, but was not limited to, purchasing, third-party contract administration and schedule compliance monitoring.

Maintenance & Development Coordinator

Responsibilities for the development of Instrument and Electrical maintenance procedures to include preventive and specific maintenance. Documented any and all existing procedures and developed new procedures where needed and organized into an electronic data base. The program was initially designed to establish a data base to capture existing expertise and was later expanded for use as a tool for training and Occupational Safety & Health Administration compliance purposes.

Procurement Specialist & Warehouse Supervisor

Responsibilities included purchasing activities and supervision of warehouse personal. Administered Integrated Supplier and Procurement Card (P-Card) programs. Assigned Initiative was to streamline operation and to eliminate position.
