Duties and Responsibilities

Create drafting/design work using a computer, requiring knowledge and skill in drafting methods, procedures and techniques using recognized systems of symbols, legends, shadings and lines having specific meanings in drawings.

Experience preparing drawings for every phase of Architectural engineering, including structures, facilities, land profiles, water systems, mechanical and electrical equipment, pipelines, duct systems, utilities, telecommunications and similar equipment, systems and assemblies. Drawings that are used to communicate engineering ideas, designs and information.

Experience

Extensive knowledge of both commercial design-built and as-built projects.

Utilities experience includes both above ground and below ground. Last projects worked on include Turbine Generation.

Specific responsibilities include working closely with design originators (engineers), preparing drawings of unusual, complex or original designs which require a high degree of precision. Performs unusually difficult assignments requiring considerable initiative, resourcefulness, and drawing expertise to assure that anticipated problems in manufacture, assembly, installation and operation are resolved by the drawing produced. Exercises independent judgment in selection and interpreting data based on knowledge of the design intent. Although working primarily as a drafter, may occasionally interpret general designs prepared by others to complete minor details. May provide advice or serve as coordinator and planner for large and complex drafting profiles.
