Previous- Research Experience in Process, Automation, and Design since 2013

EDUCATION:

Masters of Science in Energy/Mechanical Engineering: Stony Brook University, New York

Graduated: December 2014, G.P.A: 3.85/4.00

Graduate Course Work: Energy Harvesting, Internal Combustion Engines, Combustion Research Laboratory, Aerospace Propulsion, Modern Power Cycles, Energy Technology Laboratory I and II, Thermodynamics in Energy Technology I and II, Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS), Energy Management in Commercial Buildings, Building Energy Dynamics and Technology,

Bachelors of Science in Physics and Electronics: Ramnarain Ruia College, Mumbai University, India

Graduated: May 2011, G.P.A: 3.50/4.00

ACADEMIC PROJECTS (GRADUATE/UNDERGRADUATE): Internal Combustion Engine Projects: 2013/2014:

Created a technical report by running a combustion experiment on a single cylinder variable compression ratio spark ignition engine (CFR) using gasoline fuel. During the course, new conceptual working cycles such as HCCI process which is a form of internal combustion 3 way catalyst was studied as one of the example of exhaust gas analysis. Worked hands on a jet engine in the lab with in depth analysis of the workings of the compressor and turbine sections.

Energy Harvesting: 2014:

Successfully incorporated various concepts of piezo electricity, thermal energy transfer (thermo electricity), acoustics and opto electricity into successful energy harvesters to provide power to stand alone sensors to monitor various physical quantities.

Energy Technology Labs: 2013 2014:

Designed a number of different combinations of experiments testing and developing various renewable energy solutions such as PV cells, wind, tidal, geo thermal, etc. Worked on a hydrogen fuel cell to determine the optimal working properties for the fuel cell. For energy storage we researched in charging and discharging cycles of batteries, compressed air, fly wheel and energy transfer and storage through water.

HVAC/Building energy design project: 2014:

Completely conceptualized, designed, formulated and budgeted a commercial HVAC unit and for a mall with multiple shops and a restaurant with calculating the temperature change due to conduction, convection and radiation and then determining the overall energy requirements for a period of a year. Also studied, HVAC in cars and clean rooms.

Mechatronics Solar powered RC car:

Designed and built a completely Solar powered RC car as a part of my undergraduate design project with completely taking responsibility of designing the mechanical and electrical parts of the car.

3D PRINTING/COMPUTER/MECHANICAL/ELECTRICAL/ SKILLS:

3D Printing Technological Skills:

Fused deposition modeling (FDM), stereo lithography (SLM), selective laser sintering (SLS), selective heat sintering (SHS), powder bed and inkjet head 3D printing (3DP).

Computer:

C/C++, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Simplify 3D, CATIA, Pro E, Creo, Lotus Notes, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, FEA, Simulink, Matlab, Adobe Photoshop, MS Office 2015, MS Project, Linux, and Windows.

Mechanical/Electrical:

Experienced in R&D and Design since 2013

Experienced designing electromechanical systems, CNC machining and Lathe, hands on with IC design, digital/analog signals, design of engines, data analysis.

HONORS AND AWARDS:

● Dean’s list throughout graduate school.

● Physics Society, India Headed and successfully lead, managed, and conducted educational sessions of difficult concepts of physics.

● Worked as Lab Assistant in Electronics and Physics laboratory during (2010 2011).

● Recognized as an educational instructor for blind students and a tutor for a local NGO (2008 2011).
