OWNERS NAP AND GAIL STANDFIELD boarding and horse rental stable

owned my own horse helped guide trail rides,did nite chores when i was

there. left to board my horse closer.

1974 to 1977 golden leaf stables lemont ILL

volunteer and worked for the board-stable gave horse drawn rides

and horse rental. bring in all horses for morning feed,feed and water

prepare livery horses,check all horses for cuts,lameness and loose

shoes. clean barns,take calls for rides,lead trial rides if needed. brush and

help harness drafthorses,clean and ready wagons,set up camp fires.

stable closed down in 1980 reason;unknown i left in late 1977.

1977 to 1981 owned my own horse

got involved in barrel racing and western pleasure. sold horse in 1981

sept.

1981 to 2000 horseshoe w ranch NEW LENOX ILL

drafthorse journal ? TO 2000 did horsedrawn hay and sleigh rides

breeding,foal training,mare watch.took calls for rides,set up camp fires

insure saftey at camp fires and around horses and wagons,check fences

prior to turnout,check horses for injuries,lameness and loose shoes

confir with owner on what needs to be completed for the day.

hold horses for farrier and vet.take charge of 35 horses and 75 acre

farm when owner was away for weekend,do nite chores.

drive a team for hayrides. OWNER DIED IN 2000 FARM WAS SOLD

NO RELATIVES. THIS WAS A VOLUNTEER POSITION ON WEEKENDS.
