OBJECTIVE

A mechanical designer /equipment engineering position for a leading edge organization where I can leverage my experience and expertise towards making significant positive contributions to the organization and team.

BACKGROUND

I have extensive professional experience in mechanical and equipment design for both the medical device and I.C. chip industries. Activities include Mechanical design for product development including components and tooling, design of injection-molded plastic parts and drafting. Engineering design control activities include documentation control, creation of bills of materials, isometric illustration, engineering change order creation and implementation. In depth knowledge of FDA documentation requirements (IQ, OQ, PQ).

Expert in design and fabrication of complex 3-Dimensional assemblies using SolidWorks, Pro/E, AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, and Inventor Expert with geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing to ANSI Y14.5 standards. I have extensive experience creating 2-D, 3-D layouts, assembly drawings and renderings.

Product/Equipment Design Engineer

Responsible for designing manufacturing related Equipment, Fixtures and Tools to improve the manufacturability for a Mitral Valve repair device. Observed manufacturing staff to optimize assembly process in order to reach goal of 1500 production units per month. Also, responsible for creating and releasing documentation for all manufacturing equipment including old or existing mfg equipment.

Novo Nordisk Delivery Technology/Inopla – Hayward, CA January 2007 to October 2007

Sr. Equipment Engineer

Responsible for supporting manufacturing ramp up of complex web handling equipment. Designed tooling and fixtures for assembly and manufacturing.

Designed material handling system for an advanced CMP tool.

Boston Scientific - San Jose, CA - April 2001 to November 2007

Sr. Product/Equipment Designer Engineer

R&D: Design and development of new injection –molded catheter handles. Designed fixtures, automated production equipment. Supported Manufacturing Engineers, Technicians - designed process and assembly tooling. Familiar with company PDM System for the documentation and release of final design for manufacturing equipment and tooling. Develop maintenance and calibration procedures for product assembly related equipment and tooling. Generated Installation Qualification Protocol(IQP) for new equipment; activities included use of an HP Data Acquisition Device to generate Temperature Analysis Excel Spread Sheet grafts used to generate acceptance criteria.

Manufacturing: Created tooling and equipment for the manufacturing and assembly of catheters use in cardiac procedures. Supported “Manufacturing Engineering” efforts –updated and modified existing fixtures to accommodate new technology. Designed PLC controlled mechanisms and equipment using servo, stepper motors and pneumatics.

Credence Systems Corp - Fremont, CA - August 2000 to April 2001

Mechanical Engineer

Created preliminary designs for next-generation test head for semiconductor test system. Designed “cost-reduced” outside panels for existing test systems, including research into RF and EMI shielding and ergonomic requirements for operator safety. Attended company-sponsored classes on structural analysis and thermo-fluidic dynamics.

Responsible for implementation of Engineering Work Requests originated by marketing from Customer Tool Configuration Specifications, created ECO’s and documentation of changes for present product specifications.
