Target Position: Project Manager, Technical Project Lead, Product Engineering
My engineering career began as an intern working as a test technician performing cold checks and running tests on various units. I was quickly promoted to various positions including Design Engineer and Lead Project Engineer. I am known for my understanding of the product development flow, project planning and lifecycle as well as my ability to lead multi-functional/matrix teams from implementation to completion on time and within budget. I am looking for another opportunity to lead an exciting engineering team. Related Skills Include:
• Yellow Belt in 6 Sigma Certification
• Cadence - schematic capture
• MS Office including Microsoft Project
• Creating and updating project schedules with monthly presentations to upper management and IRAD executives.
• Design control and assembly tools using Teamcenter: (Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software)
WORK HISTORY:
SSL (formerly Space Systems/Loral) Palo Alto, CA 1996 – 2015
SSL is ranked the number 1 company for manufacturing and designing Commercial Satellites for broadband and mobile communications, broadcast television, and satellite radio.
Technical Hardware Product Lead (2004 - 2015)
Sr. R&D Electrical Engineer (2000 - 2003)
R&D Electrical Engineer (1996 - 1999)
Technical Hardware Product Engineer for Encryption Embedment - NSA Caribou ASIC and Gryphon ASIC AES:
As the Senior Electrical Engineer/Project Lead, I collaborated with the NSA, subcontractor (BAE Systems), and other internal SSL departments related to product development planning and scheduling, and interfacing to solve design and schedule issues. I also supported BAE Systems during production of the ICU to close non-conformances and other production issues to ensure on-time unit deliveries.
• Achieved on time delivery of scheduled engineering design reviews and specifications to stakeholders
despite changing requirements from internal departments and NSA.
• Once requirements are defined, I held several meetings with key stakeholders to define the tasks to complete the
project, and I would obtain the stakeholders buy-ins before publishing the official schedule.
• It is imperative to be proactive to ensure that risks are mitigated. If an action cannot mitigate the risk, I would
work with management and stakeholders to determine the alternative course of action to recover from that risk.
• Design risk mitigation was done through completion of worst case circuit analyses and interfacing with other
engineering disciplines to complete the Mechanical, Reliability, and Radiation analyses.
• Successfully orchestrated the development of qualification/acceptance test procedures, and completed the
qualification of the ICU.
• Reduced ICU cost by $54,000 by identifying and decreasing scope in test and production within BAE Systems.
