Reporting and Analysis

Wrote a Financial BI program for a $200M business services company. When parent company postponed the capital budget for $75K BI system purchase and installation, Dan wrote a program extracting data from the MS Dynamics ERP through an automated ODBC connection. Enabling the FP&A team to generate customer / product / service level profitability analysis, and cost center headcount and expense budget / forecast variance analysis. As well as provide improved consolidated reporting to Functional Department Heads, Sr. Leadership, the Parent Company, and the Private Equity owners of the $800M Global Company.

Managed Worldwide Business Planning at large, mid-sized and small companies. Examples being:

Public $28B P&L, over 10K employees, 6 sales and marketing regions around the world, 4 product / services business lines, and 6 factories.

Public $300M P&L, 1300 employees, 2 production/services locations (Dallas & Manchester)

Private company with less than $5M in annual revenue.

Developed and implemented annual planning processes/cycles (1yr, 3yr and 5yr forward looking projections) at multiple small, mid, and large companies. Lead lean operational management and cost reduction initiatives, cutting millions of dollars out of operating expenses. Organized financial operations for $10M partnership of private $400M agricultural company, with operations in Peru, Ecuador, Spain, and Morocco: financial reporting, cash flow reporting/management, operational KPI Dashboards, and further acquisition due diligence and strategy.

Managed acquisition and integration process for several $3-$7M acquisitions for $200M holding company: partnered with broker, negotiated purchase price, structured transaction, secured funding, closed transaction, managed on-going company along with operations manager.

Separated a $180M company during a $2B company pre-structured bankruptcy: developed and negotiated the TSA, designed and implemented back-office operations (IT, HR, Legal, Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Treasury)

Put together a $10M Strategic Partner Joint Venture between two Financial Services companies.

Sold a $15M non-strategic division to a strategic buyer: found buyer, developed/managed data room, managed ongoing information requests, negotiated TSA, closed transaction, received funds, and managed contractual earn-out.

Integrated the financial operations of a $150M acquisition into a combined $200M private company: replaced ineffective financial staff, cleaning up GL Accounting close process, and organized FP&A, Tax, Treasury and Audit functions.

Developed the data room and managed communications with several unsolicited buyers for a troubled $75M private business services company. Result was CEO and primary shareholder’s rejection of delivered bids, and decision to continue turnaround strategy.

Integrated 3 acquisition that occurred prior to my taking the CFO position for at $75M private business services company: commission plans, compensation/benefit plans, billing process, and bid/proposal strategy/process.

Developed the data room and managed communications with multiple unsolicited buyers for a $40M technology company. Result was the BOD’s rejection of delivered bids, and decision to continue growth strategy.

Developed an acquisition plan and made initial presentations for several non-marketed $250M business services acquisitions. Result was target sellers didn’t agree with the post-acquisition business model, so target sellers rejected the proposals. Company (buyer) decided to create the service platform organically and shut down the acquisition growth project.

Developed the data room and managed communications with potential buyers for a $300M telecom company. Result was the eventual sale of the company.

Developed and managed data room and communications for asset sale of $1.2B technology company. Result was sale of the assets, and distribution of the proceeds and liquid assets to the investors.

Managed the closing and integration of 3 internet companies valued at $70M at Micron Electronics. Performing due diligence, transition strategy (including TSA), consolidated integrations plans coordinated (HR, IT, legal, treasury, accounting and finance).

Part of the integration team, for the $9.6B Digital acquisition by Compaq, facilitating the incorporation of budgeting and planning into the global sales and marketing regions around the world.
