BP - Houston, TX; Houma, LA; and Sunbury, UK 2006 – June 2016
Contractor Safety Lead, Global Projects Organization (2012-2016)
Shaped a key multi-disciplinary team in the development and delivery of four global (HSE) framework agreements that enhanced BP’s contractor safety management processes.
Developed new and revised HSSE Sections, Contractor self-verification requirements, and BP oversight processes; and identified/developed Key Performance Indicators.
Developed and delivered four risk-based HSSE Sections for BP’s Global Model Framework including questionnaires and standard model scoring guides for global use.
West Nile Delta-Project HSSE Manager (2011-2012)
Managed the offshore HSSE portion of the project to develop 5 trillion cubic feet of gas resources and 55 million barrels of condensate from subsea exploration and development. Project included offshore construction, hookup, commissioning and the interface with the onshore portion of the project.
Developed and delivered the HSSE Plan for the offshore scope of work in accordance with BP standards.
Gulf of Mexico Brownfield Topsides HSSE Advisor (2010-2011)
Provided tactical and strategic HSE leadership to three offshore project teams developing enhanced/improved production and transportation capabilities for crude oil and natural gas.
Delivered all three projects without a single “day away from work case” incident.
Safety Officer - Deepwater Horizon Incident Response (2010)
Provided HSSE leadership and oversight within the framework of the National Incident Management System structure, for the Louisiana portion of the spill response.
Facilitated the development & delivery of training; development of safety protocols; and organization and implementation of a distribution system for HSSE equipment and personal protective equipment. Administered a heat-stress monitoring and management program for 16,000 spill responders across 8 different branch locations, both onshore and offshore.
Directed the Safety Section of the Louisiana Incident Command Center tasked with the health and safety of spill response workers. Accountable for 40 direct reports from government agencies, non-governmental organizations, BP staff, and BP contractors.
Delivered ‘best in class’ HSSE management during an unprecedented incident response across the Gulf of Mexico, that mobilized federal, state, company and third-party agencies across 6 states.
Completed the spill response in Louisiana without a single on-the-job fatality!
Gulf of Mexico Marine Advisor for Central Developments Organization (CDO) (2009-2010)
Assured HSSE compliance during marine activities in the US Gulf of Mexico.
Interfaced with the Marine Technical Authorities to conduct audits, vessel inspections, and contractor HSSE oversight.
Orchestrated the ‘Kick Off’ meetings for various offshore marine campaigns, Client HSSE oversight of vessel contractors, and third-party contract HSSE Advisors.
Delivered the largest offshore geophysical survey in the BP Gulf of Mexico’s history - “GRASP” - without a single permanent disabling injury.
Gulf of Mexico Subsea HSSE Advisor (2008-2009)
Provided HSSE oversight of marine activities associated with various subsea projects, managed third-party HSSE contractors, and interfaced with vessel contractors.
Delivered all projects with < 0.25 total recordable injury frequency rate.
HSSE Advisor to Wind Energy (BP Alternative Energy) (2006-2008)
Provided Client HSSE oversight on construction activities at multiple wind farm project locations to include managing a team of contract HSSE Advisors, interfacing with construction contractor, and managing site HSSE audits and incident investigation.
Delivered all BP Wind Projects without a single disabling injury or fatality in a highly risk tolerant construction sector of the energy industry.
