Facilitated collaboration between IBM Sterling (Order Management System vendor), Expicient (Integration Partner), Lyons (User Experience vendor), and Jo-Ann personnel, to ensure expectations were managed, “road blocks” were removed, and issues were raised and addressed in a timely manner

Initiated change management procedure to address potential Expicient cost overruns, and drove the start of QA and IT Security activities, so that project would remain on schedule and under budget

oApplication Maintenance – SAP/BW/ECC/PI Upgrades

Managed project to apply vendor-supplied support and enhancement packs to select components of SAP’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, including SAP Business Warehouse (BW), Store Portal, ERP Central “Core” Component (ECC) and Process Integration (PI)

Managed ~3,000-hour pilot project to present Progressive agents with Retail Package tailored to vehicle type (e.g., “Chrome Lovers Package” for motorcycle), based on such factors as vehicle age, value, and usage

Goal was to roll out to five states on 3/20/13 and to five additional states on 5/1/13. Result was that team rolled out to all ten promised states on 3/20/13 and to five additional states on 5/1/13.

oRewrite Direct and Agency Log Collection Processes

Managed ~3,700-hour project to re-engineer Internet Information Server (IIS) web log collection process for Direct and Agency. Web servers feeding process were sometimes unavailable, requiring manual intervention to restore data needed to diagnose customer issues & monitor performance, during which time data could be lost.

Result was that project team successfully created stable process to collect IIS logs from customer-serving web servers several times per day, as opposed to once per day in batch process.

oManaged additional online Acquisitions projects to enhance consumers’ purchasing experiences and increase the effectiveness of online advertising.

oCore Claims Migration

Served as Enterprise Technology Group (ETG - Operations) project manager for project that successfully migrated Progressive’s Core Claims database from CA-IDMS to IBM’s DB2, without disrupting claims-related activities involving approximately 10,000 daily users and 2 million daily transactions

oDirectory Services Framework

Managed ~6,200-hour project to successfully make LDAP hierarchical database (i.e., electronic directory) easier to access and maintain, and insulate applications from changes to infrastructure

Helped to develop functional requirements documentation, provided project status/metrics reporting, facilitated meetings, and created and maintained project plan

oNational Change of Address (NCOA)

Managed project to compare Progressive customer addresses to those on file with U.S. Postal Service and to update addresses accordingly. By complying with U.S. Postal Service Move Update requirements for all outgoing mail, Progressive was able to maintain annual discounted postage rate, saving ~$4.3 million/year

Managed project to modify ALLTEL’s mainframe Customer Account Management System (CAMS) telephone billing system to provide U.S. West with a copy of a customer’s IntraLATA toll records for Oregon on a monthly basis. Also provided U.S. West with historical information back to June 1998
