PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Project: Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company

Duration:(May 2014-June 2016)

Founded in 1851, Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) is an American mutual life insurance company with 1,800 offices and 13 million clients worldwide. MassMutual is one of the largest life insurance companies globally and was ranked 94th in the Fortune 500 list (as of 2015). The company has revenues of $25 billion (2010) and assets under management of $448 billion (2010).

Project Abstract: Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) has acquired The Hartford’s Retirement Plans Group (RPG) business to integrate with relevant Investment, Trading and Clearing data from HIG to MM’s new trading platform. As part of the transition of Hartford RPG business to Mass Mutual.RST Program mainly deals with Investment Data & Trading (IDT). There are different modules are there in this project, the module like Investment Setup, Pricing, Trading and Accounting Setup. Pricing (Valuation) and Trading are two critical batches.

Pricing is performed every business day in the evening after trading is completed for the previous business day (trading halts at 4:00 PM). Mass Mutual receives files from NSCC and VMS that contain pricing and dividend information for funds and the data will be loaded into VPA (Variable Produce Administration). The VPA user has the ability to see the prices as they arrive and review them for accuracy and completeness. Once they feel that a Fund Company’s prices and dividends are in acceptable order, they will calculate unit values in VPA and release calculated unit values and Fund Company’s prices and dividends to BIF.

BIF (Business Information Factory) is a central database which is constructed using Teradata where all the IDT data will be stored. Once the price files are received and acknowledged by BIF, the pricing information will be extracted from BIF and sent too various upstream and downstream systems called OMNI, TRAC, CARS, SE2, TA and Fundlinx.

Trading – Trade details are entered into the RK systems OMNI, TRAC, SE2 and CAS and send it BIF. From BIF trade details are translated into two different feeds called transactions and positions and sent it to TA and VPA respectively. Once the transaction feed is loaded into TA, Daily posting will be done to allocate the trades to the corresponding Accounts. And then finally the trade files are sent to external trade partners through Fundlinx system.
