As a Setup Technician I was more involved in the CNC side of the machines, learning programs M & G codes editing Programs and making offset moves in the program to machine parts to customer print. There were some leadership roles that applied whenever the Shift leader was not available. Organizing people and making sure machines were running with minimum downtime.

As a Shift lead, leadership is a big part of the role. Making sure that not only the Setup tech is keeping the machines running at all times and helping with Tool changes, offset CNC program edits, and making sure the Hourly and overall shift production targets are met. Also keeping my team motivated to reach the common goal of making quality parts while hitting our target for the shift and hourly. All of this is in line with company and customer standards set. help them appreciate the overall goal. I work closely with Shift leads on team building and overall
moral building. Shift leads are responsible for the training being implemented and I set the training criteria and scheduling. Also I keep track of the timesheets and vacations for the employees. I also hold 1 on 1 coaching session with everyone on the line to help build good working relationships with people on the line which helps moral. I report directly to the Production Manager.
