After the sale of Cargill Pork to JBS, I worked as part of the transition team to ensure working systems until the cutover was complete.

Key Accomplishment:

Challenge: The Kewill transportation system that was implemented was missing several key components due to legal requirements as a result of the sale. This system handles all transportation requirements to ensure accurate on-time delivery to customers. Result:

Developed a method to help the business spot inaccuracies in data so corrections could be made to minimize customer impact. In addition, I monitored the system seven days a week to make sure integration components were in proper working order.

Challenge: The value based procurement system responsible for purchasing hogs and reporting market price data to the USDA was very unstable after the sale. Result:

Developed a “decision-tree” document so support teams could rapidly respond to the system instabilities. Animals were purchases and no USDA fines were incurred.

Each year, both business activities and technical processes need to be executed in a specific order to allow a successful close of financial records.
