Job Descriptions:
In charge of staff assignments, work schedules, delegation of care, and supervision of staff during a shift.
Direct care responsibilities such as medication administration, treatments, and documentation
Assisting clients with activities of daily living (turning & positioning, toileting, bathing, grooming, feeding and mobility)
Assisting GPs with examinations. Carrying out treatments, including administering of prescribed drugs and other remedies like wound care, infection control, PEG feeding, etc.
Participates in care planning meetings and ensuring that programmes concerning the client are effectively carried out
Working closely with the MDT to achieve optimal input for the client and following the recommendations of the MDT members
Participates in further education and or in service training to keep competencies updated
Act as a preceptor/mentor for undergraduate student nurses and newly qualified nurses. Supporting and ensuring clinical environment is conducive to the learning experiences of students
Managing and supervising the unit in absence of CNM or DON. Ensuring that staffs carry out duties as assigned to the highest standard by supporting, guiding and instructing when required.
Ensures the residents' physical health and comfort is maintained by providing routine and non-routine clinical care
Act as 'in charge', supervising and supporting care staff
Ensures that communication between peers and staff is upheld and fostered to ensure duties are performed accurately and holistically
Ensures that families are fully informed about issues relating to their relative at ARV
