All three rigs will be used for drilling around Prudhoe Bay, AK. The task is to manage the equipment and vendors during the manufacturing and FAT phases and ensure that the equipment is delivered to the rig-up sites for installation and maintain the project’s build schedule. Package Manager – Drilling Package

Package Manager for the drilling equipment on the White Rose extension project for Husky Energy, based in St. Johns, Newfoundland. The package manager role required the knowledge and adherence to Canadian regulations for offshore oil & gas production and platforms (CNLOPB, CSA), client’s Basis of Design requirements and guidelines as well as several tasks. The first task was to review the FEED documents; and create equipment specifications, data sheets and technical documents that were aligned with the project’s design requirements. Once specifications were completed, the second task was to interface with procurement during the vendor bidding process for RFQ development, bid evaluations, and provide a technical evaluation of the bids and recommend vendors based on the technical and governing code compliance of the bids. The third task was to manage the equipment and vendors during the manufacturing and FAT phases and ensure that the equipment was delivered to the shipyard for installation and maintain the project’s build schedule.

The topsides drilling equipment package required knowledge of all equipment and commissioning procedures needed for a complete drilling package. This ranged from drill floor equipment (Derrick, Top Drive, Drawworks, Driller’s Cabin, Iron Roughneck, Choke and Kill manifolds, Catwalk, etc.); as well as the BOP (Blowout Preventer), Diverter, HPU, Rig Skidding. Other equipment in this package included the Bulk Powder, Cementing system, CRI Unit, Mud Mixing System and other support systems.

The role required working with structural engineering, material handling, HSE and other disciplines and the service vendors to address all demands and needs for the project’s requirements.

Oversight of Company QA/QC program Development. Site manager over the QA/QC department for the Superior - Arctic Challenger Project for Shell Oil. Perform process audits at supplier workshops to insure QA/QC, NDE activities complied with internal procedures and Shell requirements. Oversee Third Party inspection daily activities and review of reports and reported non-conformances. Reviewed all heavy lift plans, procedures and inspected all rigging equipment.

Worked on the development of procedures to be used for API Q1 & API 4F certification. Developed procedures for NQ1 qualification program. Trained QC and production personal on API Q1, NQ1and new NDE testing, and welding certification processes, as they were adopted company wide. Preformed internal audits on Q1, NQ1 procedures at all GBI shop and field locations. Preformed random audits on workshop welding procedures, equipment and welder performance. Reviewed all third party NDE personal and equipment certification.

Oversight of fabrication and repair work on fleet of rigs ensuring API, ASME, AWS D1.1, ABS and customer specifications were met. Management of the equipment and vendors audits during the manufacturing and FAT phases and ensure that the equipment complied with code/standards before delivery to the shipyard for installation and maintain the project’s build schedule.

Project duties also included planning construction schedules, inspection test plans, document control procedures. Review of heavy lift plans and certification of lifting equipment. Conducted JSA with all rigging personal before each lift. Managed all heavy sea lifts for the BP Liberty Rig and AADU Rig in Vancouver, WA and Deadhorse, Alaska. NDE report review of all tubular goods and BOP equipment. Also performed random field audits on NDE and third-party personal. Managed commissioning personal at Rig-up to insure customer specification were meet. Planning for ABS/MODU inspections and Hull repairs. Performed random inspection audits on all active drilling rigs.

Projects include:

Retro fitting of Rigs 77B, 55B, 50B, 15B & 8B. Hull gauging review and shipyard repairs to ABS rules. Witness the fabrication and installed new drilling structure and Mast. Installed new updated equipment and commissioned.

Repair work on location of Rig 257 in the North Caspian Sea; ABS hull gauging with repair work as needed and MODU inspections. Retro fitted a new 7500 psi mud system, pumps, shaker room with all new update equipment and commissioned to meet ExxonMobil specifications.

Retro fitted the drilling sub structure, install and commissioned the new equipment, in Saudi Arabia. These (6) Rigs were delivered from China and needed modifications to meet contract specification for ARAMCO.

Rig-up and commissioning of two new build Rigs from China in the Sahara desert and retro fit of Chinese equipment with NOV equipment.

New build of the BP Liberty Rig for service on the North Slope, built in Vancouver, WA and Anchorage, AK. Rig-up on BP drill site in Deadhorse, AK

New build of two fast move AADU Rigs for service on the North Slope, built in Vancouver, WA and Deadhorse, AK. Completed the fabrication and commissioned the Rigs to comply with BP specifications.

Fabrication of build two new platform rigs for the Bohai bay II project. My role was to assist the fabrication yard in Tianjin and fabrication rig-up site in Yanti with fabrication schedules and rig-up schedules. Assisted the fabricator with their set-up of a QC & NDE department to comply with customer standards, API 4F, AWS D1.1, ASME, and the commissioning program. Review all heavy lift equipment certifications and visually inspect lifting equipment.
