Ogbarode Napoleon Ogbon is a Petroleum Engineer, an MWD Directional Drilling Specialist, and an Oil and Gas Training Consultant with 35 years of rewarding national and international experience. He studied petroleum engineering in the United States at Louisiana State University(LSU) and University of Louisiana (UL) for his BSc and MSc degrees respectively.
He started his career in the oil and gas industry as an MWD engineer with Teleco Oilfield Services where he earned vast experience in directional drilling, MWD data acquisition and analysis from the Gulf of Mexico in the USA, the North Sea(Aberdeen), Mediterranean (Syracuse – Italy), the Gulf of Guinea (Gabon, Cameroon & Nigeria).
He is an oil gas training specialist and manpower developer. He trained Shell directional drilling engineers to excel in their Round I and II exams in Hague. He trained and developed graduates engineers at the Shell Intensive Training Programme to hit the ground and run in the oil field in Nigeria. He coordinated the Nexus/Nigerian National Petroleum Company graduate engineers Foundation Training Programme that produced engineers that exhibited more rate of field knowledge and skill acquisition than the company has ever experienced. He lectures petroleum engineering courses in the Federal University of Petroleum Resources, Effurun, Nigeria He designs and facilitates any course or/and training programme to fill in any knowledge, skill and competency gap in any petroleum establishment. He has authored several training manuals in directional drilling, drilling engineering, oil and gas processing, natural gas processing, transmission and unit operations. He has wide and deep knowledge on all aspects of the oil and gas industry and has the ability to help people to learn at every level, from company directors or expert industrialists, through graduates to new-starts.
