PROJECT DETAILS AS PART OF NATIONAL AEROSPACE LABORATORIES (NAL), BANGALORE:

DESIGNING:

TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS FOR MICRO AERIAL VEHICLES DEVELOPMENT: MATERIALS AND STRUCTURES.

1.CAD modelling of 1.6m wing span Mini unmanned aerial vehicle (MAV) modular wing concept and respective tool designing.

2.CAD Modeling of Camera mounting concept and simulation using Catia V5-Digital Mock Up Kinematics module.

3.Responsible for complete mould design of PUSHPAK MAV.

4.Responsible for designing low weight brushless motor adapter and modular fuselage concept for BLACKKITE MAV.

5.Tool designing of 1.4m wing span Mini unmanned Aerial Vehicle (MAV).

Building models of various design concepts, Internal structure, Assembly and Design to fabrication drawings.

Designing CAD models for mould making purpose.

As built composite drawings and preparation of modular design and drawings.

CAD modeling various assembly concepts of wing- fuselage and Motor mount-Wing.

ANALYSIS:

1.Linear static stress analysis of Hybrid Autoclave.

Responsibilities:

2D and 3D FE modeling of the Aerospace grade Autoclave using Hypermesh tool.

Assigning material and thickness properties to the various components of the autoclave appropriately.

The load transfer from door teeth to shell teeth was calculated and validated through hand calculations.

Carried out linear static stress analysis using MSC NASTRAN to check for the stress at various locations.

Various modifications were recommended using the FE results.

2. Static analysis of Class I MAV (1.4m wing span).

2D FE modeling of wing. Fuselage, Motor mount, Interface, Tail boom, Horizontal tail, Vertical tail components and internal structure.

Assigning composite material data along with ply thickness, number of plies and their orientation.

FE models with different material and thickness are compared against weight and strengths for fabrication purpose.
