Duties and Job Description as MRI Technologist

* Performs radiological examinations.

* Assist and monitor the condition of the equipment to ensure safe operation of the MRI machine and other related biomedical equipment.

* Attend mandatory training, soft skills training, special skills training and department in-house training.

* Ensure quality assurance of paper radiographs and images on Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS).

* Performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) of the brain, brain with angiogram, neck, chest, breast, liver, kidneys, upper abdomen, lower abdomen, whole abdomen, cervical spine, lumbar spine, pelvis, hip, femur, knee, legs, ankle, foot, shoulder, elbow, forearm and hand in plain and contrast study.

* Perform angiogram of the intracranial vessels, carotids, abdominal aorta, thoracic and peripherals.

* Perform special procedures such as Cardiac MR, neuron tractography, brain perfusion and functional MRI.

* Practice sign in, sign out and time out in every patient to maintain quality of work and to avoid errors. Understands and applies patient relation skills. Secure confidentiality of all patient results and records.

*Handles and resolve problems that may arise in the section either from the patient or from his/her co-worker and reports it to his/her superior.

*Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of the examination rooms.

*Performs other duties assigned by his/her supervisor from time to time.

* Performs accurate Mammographic and Automated Breast Volume Scanning(ABVS) procedures.

* Assist doctors in Sonographic and SpecialProcedures.

* Prepares diagnostic rooms prior to performing patient's examination.

* Monitors quality assurance of films.

* Maintains, monitors good operating and cleans the Mammogram,Sonomammogram and Automated Breast Volume Scanner(ABVS) machines and other related biomedical equipments.

* Refills x-ray film/cartridges

*Practices radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and co-workers.

*Archives patient's images daily

*Monitors and records used and spoilage films

*Reports and documents mechanical/technical problem of the machines to the Senior Technologist/Assistant Unit Manager-Technical.

*Makes monthly inventory and requisitions of medical supplies to the Central Sterile Supplies and Pharmacy Department.

* Updates and arranges records/films of patient to be read by radiologist

*Assist in steps in compliance with the patients requirements to meet and exceed their expectations.

* Explains procedures to patient to reduce anxieties and obtain patient cooperation.

* Interviews and records information on patient's chart.

* Maybe be assigned on other task from time to time as determined by the unit manager.
