Recruited to reorganize and implement organizational changes necessary to transform a struggling district energy company into a vibrant organization that is equipped to meet the environmental, regulatory, and social challenges that lie ahead. Cooperative organization supplies utility needs such as steam, chilled water and electricity to University Hospitals Health System, Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Art Museum, the Cleveland Orchestra, Cleveland Botanical Gardens, the Cleveland Medical Library Association, the Cleveland Hearing and Speech facility, the Cleveland Institute of Art, and the Church of the Covenant. Prior to 2003, organization had been running on a negative margin of roughly ten percent. Since 2003, through a balance of expense reductions and revenue enhancements, the organization has been operating with a positive margin. Position reports to a 15 Member Board of Trustees that meets three times a year for formal approval of corporate auditing and budgeting. Position reports to a 5 Member Executive Committee of the Board of Trustees that meets monthly to address all organizational needs.
Due to the organizations commitment to eliminate coal as its primary fuel source, redesigned the organization to implement changes necessary to honor this commitment in the most cost effective manner possible.

Assumed leadership of the Technical Services group that provided a wide range of professional engineering services for 128 municipal electric systems in Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Kentucky and West Virginia. Established annual budget of over $50 million dollars for multiple departments and presented budget to Board of Trustees for approval.
Responsible for the successful installation of Ohio’s first large-scale wind farm in Bowling Green (3.6 Megawatts), 288.65 Megawatts of dispersed natural gas-fired generation, 30 Megawatts of landfill gas-fired generation, and Ohio’s first large-scale fuel cell installation (250 Kilowatts) in Westerville, Ohio.
Submitted and received over $1.5 million in State and Federal grants.
Worked closely with members to assure that both their short-term and long-term power supply needs were met.
Worked with member communities to identify electrical needs and recommend solutions. Assisted members with financing of electric projects by developing financial feasibility studies in order to obtain 1-year bond anticipation notes during construction.
