I have owned a multi-line insurance agency with Shelter Insurance Companies since 1994 to my recent retirement 2016. As the business owner I have managed a small staff and grown a book of business from zero to over $700,000 in annual premium, earning many incentives and awards including salesman of the year in Kentucky. Inside my career there, I have been the key agent of sales, service and claims handling for 21 years. I have since developed skills in a variety of business areas. During this time, I also worked with Shelter Bank for 15 years developing and servicing new accounts, loans and mortgages. I also work as a broker liaison for Daniel Boone Underwriters offering a variety of commercial products including workers compensation, general liability, malpractice coverage and bonds for a diverse client base.

PERSONAL \ CIVIC ACTIVITIES AND INTERESTS

As a husband and father of four, I enjoy time with my family and participating in their sporting and academic events. I am a published writer. I enjoy hunting, fishing and coaching little league as well as being involved with local theater. I am a member of Lions Club, Knights of Columbus and am an honorary Kentucky Colonel. I served on the local school board for 4 years and am associated with various charities. I have always been active within my church and community.
