BDC INC. 436 Anglum Rd, Hazelwood, MO 63042.
Fabrication/Service Technician, March 2003 – May 2005
As a fabricator, I would build electrical control panels and gas valve trains in various sizes, from customer drawings. This involved marking the layout of the panels, cutting all the holes for any associated instrumentation, and then installing and wiring all switches, lights, starters, controllers, PLC's, transformers and other related equipment. Designs would often have to be modified as they were built, to accommodate any customer changes to equipment or possible location problems. Once completed, everything is then tested for correct operation electrically and then pressure tested to ensure there are no leaks, any adjustments or repairs would be then made before the equipment was sent out to be installed in the field.
POWERTRAIN LIMITED. Rednal, Birmingham, UK.
Diesel Engine Hot Tester, February 2000 – October 2002
Working as a diesel engine hot tester I would test newly built engines (using an automated test bed facility) to determine capabilities, to spot possible production problems and to eliminate any potential design flaws. Hot testing only required that the engines be run for periods not exceeding 15 minutes through the use of a preset computerized test program, this allowed me to check for correct cooling and fuel flows as well as any leaks or possible equipment failures that may arise.
MG ROVER GROUP. Longbridge, Birmingham, UK.
Engine Tester, January 1990 - July 1997
My duties involved taking petroleum engines from the production lines and examining them for possible assembly issues. Using computerized test facilities I would test completed engines for time periods from 10 minutes to 500 hours trying to identify any potential component failures. This would check the integrity, performance and capabilities of the finished product before they were installed into vehicles for final assembly. All engines had to perform within designated specifications according to company mandated guidelines, any flaws or equipment failures were then analyzed with reports submitted to the appropriate departments so that corrective actions and possible redesigns could be made accordingly.
