Established a consistent set of accounting policies and procedures resulting in a standardized division-wide monthly reporting package. This allowed benchmarking of 5 divisions and leveraging the best practices from all divisions maximizing margin & profits. Results: The Company grew by 4 times over a 10 year period.
Evaluated/Analyzed plant & production capabilities to rationalize plant consolidations. Resulted in closure of 3 plants generating an annual savings of over $2 million.
Centralized finance/accounting functions from 100+ plants to 5 regional accounting centers. Identified as the lead to develop the largest of the five. Hired and staffed the Dallas accounting center with over 90 professional accountants. Results: Eliminated redundant and inconsistent accounting practices allowing for efficiencies and headcount savings.
Redesign of the SOX and internal control environment from a decentralized structure to a more efficient centralized structure. Results: No material weaknesses within the first year of implementation.
Identified a significant manual effort required to file monthly regulatory reports. Coordinated a team of professional accountants and IT resources to automate and streamline the process. Resulting in more accurate timely filings allowing analytics prior to filing. Reducing overall shrinkage, penalty charges, and headcount savings.
