Under the supervision of an RN, provide care to assigned patients to include surgical, cardiac, medical, pulmonary, and isolation patients.

Report any significant changes to the RN in Charge and the physician. Assist physicians as needed.

Maintain continuity of care by accurately and concisely reporting to all other care givers, including transport and receiving units.

Document all care as in the standards of practice.

Monitor all IV's and IVPB's, to include blood and any blood products following protocol. Monitor IV sites and change PRN.

Administer medications per orders.

Attend unit conferences and inservices when appropriate. Do EKG's PRN.

Started out in the Leesburg Regional Day Surgery Center as a Pain Nurse, working in the Pain Clinic.

Setting up for procedures, and assisting physicians with several different types of epidural injections, to include procedures done under C-arm.

Later I began working in the Ambulatory Surgery Units at LRDSC/LLSC, providing care to assigned surgical patients, to include admitting, IV Therapy, post surgical care and discharge. I worked in the Pre Admissions Department at LLSC, doing courtesy admissions and teaching patients scheduled to have surgery, about their surgical procedure, and post care.

I also worked at the front desk at LRDSC/LLSC, directing patients as they came in for surgery, labs, pre-admissions or x-rays, and doing the surgical reports as I broke patients charts down.

I maintained all mandated educational requirements.

Left due to the fact, I was in a motorcycle accident and broke my shoulder, and had to have surgery on that shoulder 10 weeks later, which took my healing period over my 12 week allowance for Medical LOA, they had to have a replacement for my position.
