Narrative Essay
“Racist Policing In America”
As Americans it's important that we learn the laws of our land, so we
can understand the process of “seizures” and how the law protects U.S. Citizens
from being falsely accused of a crime. When a racist police officer approaches
us, we get nervous if we're pulled over or even stopped in the streets. There are
millions of people who are fearful of cops and that's sad, considering we
depend on them to “protect and serve” our country. Many people have reported
situations in which false suspicions or accusations ended in the police becoming
violent or needlessly involved. I can relate to this topic very well, because I've
experienced a situation that was very humiliating and hateful. The one thing
that really bothers me is when police officers and security guards abuse their
authority because they are in fact racist. Although most officers won't admit
they're prejudice or racist in the presence of a judge and jury.
There are police officers that seem to think it's ok to stop and search
someone's vehicle, even we they've done nothing wrong. Just because a person
is black and they're driving an expensive car.
