Senior Construction Manager $100m+ 2013

Planned and managed late stage aspects of Greenfield construction of a wood pellet manufacturing facility. Prioritized and executed coordination of contractors with a focus on maximizing resources and meeting an aggressive completion date. Individual subcontractors were issued critical path tasks with redirected resources to achieve schedule compliance. As part of the Value Engineering the site grading plan was reviewed and modified to eliminate redundancies.

Facility construction was 40% complete at the time of hire

Established a materials management program to properly receive, track, and store multiple shipments of high value specialty equipment supplied by worldwide vendors.

Saved ~$850k by eliminating redundancies and inefficiencies in the site grading work { Retention Ponds, drainage ditches etc.} yet to be performed

Directed the overall field management of multiple subcontractors with a peak work force totaling 300+ workers on two shifts

Conducted extensive value engineering /cost reduction measures resulting in direct cost savings of $3.5+ million by enhancing schedule, aligning contractor focus, materials substitution

Accelerated the compressed schedule by streamlining the supply chain from multiple vendors / fabricators

SNC-Lavalin International RTB – Bor, Serbia

Senior Construction Manager$ 650m+ 2012-2013

Oversaw initial brownfield excavation, foundation, and soil work for a flash smelter furnace replacement and construction of a new sulfuric acid plant and upgrade of various plant specific systems. Key relationships with local Customs officials and European vendors were developed, greatly reducing clearance and delivery delays

Removed buried utility ducts, abandoned product, water, and drain lines from previous plant structures, including miscellaneous foundations. All voids were backfilled to specifications.

Removed all contaminated soils and debris in accordance with Serbian Environmental regulations.

Serbian Minister of Labor and area UN representative visited the site and complemented the staff on the project’s progress.

Introduced North American/European construction means and methods to local subcontractor workforce.

Implemented International Construction Safety Standards, and introduced Zero Tolerance for onsite contraband.

Successfully managed the $700 million fast track dynamic Titanium Dioxide plant expansion project (Tampico, Mexico) in a live plant setting. Execution of technical evaluation of contractor bids for the initial project phases. Coordinated contractor work fronts and integrated construction activities into existing plant operations. Hired bilingual local technical/administrative staff. Tracked performance and presented status updates on construction progress. Reviewed and paid contractor invoices.

Provided evaluation on the routing of HDPE raw water intake line of 7.5 km through swamp/river locations and reviewed new outfall line (9.2 km) through federally protected mangrove areas to appropriate agencies and plant personnel.

Jacobs Engineering, Shah Gas Development Co – Abu Dhabi; UAE / Madrid, Spain

Construction Manager $1.1Bn

Seconded to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company in this $1.1 billion multi-phase sour gas recovery project. Executed gas gathering-product pipeline systems. Addressed presence of significant amounts of H2s (23% mole) at well pad sites to limit workers’ exposure during SIMOPS. I

Interviewed and hired core team including project, engineering, and electrical engineering managers.

Volunteered for HSE Committee co- chair, and implemented a robust HSE program

Vetted proposed sub-contractors as part of Work Package bids evaluation team.

Met with municipalities and stakeholders to verify access/address RoW issues.

BP San Juan Coal Bed Methane, Major Project – Durango, CO

Site Construction Manager $1.7Bn

Supervised all aspects of a $1.7 billion upstream program, with full responsibility over field decisions from HSE, QA/QC, field engineering, well site construction, materials management, and procurement departments.

Credited for HSE turn around resulting in a nomination for the President's Safety Excellence Award for 975,000 man hours worked over 12 month period with no recordable incidents, no lost time cases.

Executed infill drill pad preparation in and completed 800 + new gas well production pads. Successfully installed of over 500 miles of 10” pipeline, over 1700 sq. miles of La Plata County, CO

Increased client satisfaction survey scores from 87% to 93% over 12 months.

Reduced per-well costs by 35% by optimizing resources and coordinating with BP on well site release locations.

Country Manager – USAF / USMC Fuels Infrastructure Upgrade Initiative (AFCEE IDIQ contract)

Established and managed a branch office to facilitate growth effort in Pacific Rim. Grew operation in Okinawa and N. Japan from zero to $10+ million less than one year by engaging competent Japanese contractors for fast track civil engineering projects. Built personal relationships with USAF Base Engineering personnel.

Executed aviation fuel infrastructure upgrade program at USAF bases, US Army installations, USMC facilities and US Navy fuel terminals in Okinawa and mainland Japan.

Supervised, scoped and executed an $8.5 million structure lightning protection upgrade project to NEC standards within the highly restricted Munitions Storage Area.
