Dental Infection Control

Served as an infection control officer, developed infection control protocol, prepared, and sterilized instruments and equipment. Medical Safety and EHS point of contact for incoming Airmen and civilian trainees, professionally conducted thorough OSHA and JACHO compliant inspections throughout the dental clinic OSAN AFB-USAFE/PACAF. The military enhanced my patient to provider interaction, acquired great people skills. I’ve gained great verbal communication skills, able to adapt and manage under stress. Assisted the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures; shot and developed dental radiographs (x-rays). Performed office management tasks that often require the use of a personal computer.

• Spearheaded the infection control program for incoming Airmen at RAF Lakenheath, UK Dental Clinic-USAFE. Briefed over 3000 incoming airmen and soldiers on dental health and oral disease prevention.

Under the direct supervision of research professors, I’ve conducted and successfully lead numerous research projects. Investigated eukaryotic and non-eukaryotic organisms targeting fungi, specific target genes, and amplified DNA through the process of PCR. Followed imperative biological protocols, and orchestrated other necessary in lab procedures such as spectroscopy, titration, cell cultivation, and micro pipetting.
