Complete Packing house solution Enhancements.

Skills: .NET, Oracle 9i, TSQL, SQL Server etc

The ERP implementation was brought about to have all the data in one place, however the Complete Packing house solution was still using its SQL server tables, also much of the manual input was being already captured in Oracle so there was no need to maintain the data in two places. This project enhanced the Complete Packing house solution system (see below) to capture its data from Oracle and fill in the holes where Oracle did not provide the solution, for example Oracle Apps usability is extremely cumbersome, and one has to go through multiple screens to do something which was already done in two clicks or less in the Complete Packing house solution. Also Oracle did not provide production, runlist and the Shipping module in its OPM Module.

Responsibilities:

Change the existing Complete Packing house solution to talk to the Oracle ERP solution.

Data was entered in one place (Oracle) and displayed using the system.

Filled the holes where Oracle Apps solution was in efficient or non-existent.

Replace Oracle Apps screen with .NET based screens which were graphical easier to see, work with and followed the 2 click rule.

Oracle ERP Implementation.

Skills: Oracle 9i, OPM, SQL server.

Responsibilities:

Training consultants on business processes and best practices.

Serving as a link between consultants and the company.

Data extraction and formatting from Agresso to Oracle.

Employee training and support

Discoverer Administration.

Fact-finding and error hunting when data did not match.

Dealing with large teams (> 80) from multiple consulting companies (Deloitte, OSI, Satyam, Igate etc)

Responsible for Oracle Items.

Complete Packing house solution

Skills: .NET, HTML, Java Script, ER diagrams, Sql server 2000, Oracle 9i, Bar code and custom tag printing.

The system is a multi screen, multi packinghouse application taking care of the entire operation from Receiving to Manufacturing to Packing to Shipping. The complete package replaced the existing forms of communications with faxes, phone calls and print outs thereby greatly increasing the efficiency and productivity of the whole packing house. The fruit is received and assigned an inventory location, storing the receiving information, which is used later for billing and inventory purposes. As soon as the fruit arrives, production is notified which then assigns the fruit to be automatically dumped on the grading, sizing and sorting machines using interactive inventory selection screens. As the fruit is being run through the machines, each type of fruit is being captured by the system, which also keeps track of rots and juice fruit, changing the inventory dynamically. The fruit is then picked up by the production planning module of the system, which assigns locations where the fruit is best suited to be packed, taking into consideration the type of fruit, the type of packaging used, the confirmed orders and the tentative orders assigning each order sku a priority. At this point the packing leads at the different locations through out the plant see only what has been assigned to them and direct there staff to work on the packing based on the priority. Once the packing is complete, shipping gets notified automatically. The shipping module in turn keeps track and assigns the docks to a truck, based on a priority based business intelligence logic that automatically calculates the wait times, the efficiency and productivity of the entire operation. It also serves as a link between the shipping and production departments as it notifies shipping when the product is ready and tells production when the truck was on its way for pick up. This system reduced the average wait time for customers from 7 hrs to less than 1.5 hrs. There were no more discrepancies between the bills of growers and the packinghouse. The customers as well as the suppliers could remotely login and see there fruit being processed and billed online. The screens were made to follow the 2-click rule as the packinghouse employees are not very savvy at using computers hence usability was of utmost importance.

Responsibilities

Responsible for the complete process from start to finish.

Involved in the overall specifications collection, designing, developing, deploying and maintaining of the system

Extensive programming in .NET, and client side scripting.

Writing views, triggers, stored procedures for MS SQL Server.

Screens were made extremely user friendly to accommodate non-computer users.

www.paramountcitrus.com, Document imaging system

Skills: .NET, HTML, Java Script, ER diagrams, Sql server 2000, Dreamweaver, Fireworks etc, blobs.

I was Responsible for the development of the non-graphical portion of the portal so that both the customers and the suppliers could log in and see there financial reports and check on the status.

The portal kept track of the users and had a document imaging system, which stored the pdf’s in the SQL Server as blobs for easy search and display. The document imaging system automatically uploaded statements and other documents from a directory to the database and was fully customizable and manageable. A custom fully functional events calendar was also developed for the company.

Trigger Build

Skills: Java, JSP, servlet, Tomcat web server, Unix, Weblogic, Junit testing.

The company needed a way to immediately find out whether any code check in into the version control system broke the main code line, so a java-based solution was implemented using the servlet technology. The user logged into the internal website and requested a trigger build, the user email along with time of request was sent to the servlet which in turn did a sync to the latest code line in the version control system and tried a compile the code line using the make file utility. The results of the compilation were sent to the user. If two users requested the trigger build at almost the same time then one of them was given a message saying that another version of trigger build is already running and his information was stored in a hierarchical hash table .As soon as the system was done with the earlier build, it goes ahead with the next request for build.
