Business Philosophy

Business requires innovative procedures to get work done more efficiently and more accurately. I have a proven record of streamlining accounting and increasing report accuracy amd at the same time, turning a monthly close from an 8 day monthly end struggle to a leisurely 4 day close.

Business requires cooperation between departments and sharing of vital information. I work hard to learn ways to improve the flow of data to other departments timely to their needs.

Routine reporting can change at a moment’s notice. A well run accounting department must be able to react immediately to new requirements. When other departments fail to meet deadlines, I work with them to resolve issues.

Major Areas of Focus

Manufacturing.

I have experience in tool and die, forging, cold forging, large munitions, robotic machine shop, aluminum fabrication, steel fabrication, furniture, garment, health aids. I am well versed in job cost, standard cost and variance analysis.

I have experience in large manufacturing (one million square foot facility) as well as small to medium sized facilities.

Customer Relations

I was the primary management person responsible for client and employee relations. We had upwards of 10,000 employees and 150 clients in 12 states. All complaints were resolved by me. Audit Containment

Software Utilization

I can evaluate software in place and determine ways to better utilize the data base for overall company benefit. Under my direction, the received goods portion of MSA purchasing module was utilized to determine unrecorded liabilities at month end. This eliminated hundreds of hours of overtime monthly.

I designed a program that determined inventory variance by station in the bill of materials in a real time program. Perpetual inventory was immediately corrected and swings recorded immediately to standard cost inventory. This eliminated $500,000 swings to inventory.

Found and proved a 30 year old error to standard cost recording to the general ledger.

I create routine reports from downloaded data and maintain a library of Excel reports that answer management needs.
