EXPERIENCE

Surgical Technologist-Clinical Rotation Full-time 02/2015-07/2015

Surgical areas scrubbed: General Surgery, Gynecology, and Reconstructive surgery. Duties include scrubbing, gowning and donning gloves; setting up sterile back table and Mayo stand with instruments, supplies and medical solutions needed for specific procedures; prepare sterile dressings; gown and glove surgeon and assistant; assist with draping sterile field; perform appropriate counts with circulator prior to surgery and before closure; and check supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures. Maintain highest standard of sterile technique during procedure; assist with cleaning the operating room, and prepare for the next patient. Perform decontamination, preparation and sterilization of instrumentation. Performed huddle, pulled case cart, cleaned suction machine, and scanned cart/instruments into computer. Helped drape patient and move patient after surgery. Knowledge of human anatomy and physiology. Use aseptic techniques to prepare and protect the sterile field during surgeries. Effective in oral communication and participate in aspects of documentation along with provided support to the surgical team and supervisory staff. Continuing education with AST and proficient in Medical Terminology.

Data Entry of receipts using Microsoft Office. Contacted and negotiated fees/arrival times with clients. Maintained environmental and infection control standards within established policies and procedures of the client. Performed general cleaning tasks to maintain bedrooms, kitchen, and common living areas around the house. Used equipment such as mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, and shampooers and related environmental service equipment. Followed standard precaution protocols and complied with regulatory requirements while mixing cleaning products and performed cleaning procedures gathering and disposing of trash and waste materials using specified bags or containers.
