In addition to what is highlighted in my résumé, here are a few of my skills gained since I joined Huish/Sun:

I started at Huish as a Supervisor in the Liquids Packaging areas. Here I gained experience working with the manufacturing areas that dealt with our Products. This experience enhanced my already extensive Manufacturing background. I continued to work very closely with the Packaging group as I moved to Liquids Process after 6 months.

I implemented and maintained Monthly Physical Inventories for Liquids Process for 5 years. This meant not only counting, but also being accountable for large adjustments every month. Joined Inventory Control as Supervisor, then Team Manager 9 years ago. Learned every aspect of Inventory Control using SUDZZ and became an expert on that ERP. This meant learning how the SUDZZ system worked, how we should be using it, and how to get what we needed out of it. The Team, when I came along, was without direction. I helped them to understand how they should be doing their job and where we could be made to be better. I helped them to understand how to use tools that they had not yet discovered (SUDZZ programs, MS Excel functions, reporting tools, etc). I became a Superuser for SUDZZ.

Next came implementation of Red Prairie (both Digital Supplier and the main RP clients). My team and myself were heavily involved with these implementations. We ensured good movement and transfer of Finished Goods to and from each warehouse that was brought in. At one time, we were managing 15 warehouses (some DS and some full RP) and I had a staff of 13 full-time employees and 6 Temporaries.

Later, Sun implemented SAP. My group and I quickly got into the details of the new system and several were considered Superusers. We taught others as much as we could and worked very closely with the SAP Consultants on site. Myself and several of my Auditors worked many long days and many days in a row during the implementation phase. Our experience with SAP extended well beyond the BG Plant.

Later still, we combined and segregated our warehouses such that Exel took over running our Distribution and Packaging Warehouses. Half of the BG IC staff was re-tasked to work for Exel. I managed this transition for Sun IC.

I have full understanding of all Inventory Control functions. I have counted and adjusted all of the types of inventory that Sun has. I understand how SAP and RP are used and most of the underlying details of these two systems. I am the sole SAP Superuser left at the BG Plant. I understand how to build and maintain all IC reports that are used by Sun (and why they are important). I have led or been part of many, many physical inventories (both at Sun sites and Copacker sites). I have worked very closely with Sun’s Material Planners and Schedulers. I have also worked closely with the Copack group and some of the Copackers (extensive experience with COB Copackers).

In order to lead the BG IC Team, it was necessary to learn every aspect of what they did. I did so quickly and efficiently. My BG IC Team now manages their own Book of Business without the need for outside help. Any new issues or concerns are brought to me and we manage them together. I have held training classes on MS Excel to bring them all up to speed on tools such as VLOOKUP and PIVOT tables.

I interact with many departments for many reasons associated with Inventory Control (as well as some not associated). I understand my own job functions, those of my Auditors, and those of most of the people I work with every day. I understand Separation of Duties (I am the approver of new T-Code assignments for IC functions) and continually work to make sure everyone I work with stays compliant. I understand Sarbanes-Oxley and how it will impact Sun when we go through ceritification. I have been through two ISO 9000 implementations.

Anything that I need to learn, I learn quickly and completely. I am not satisfied with the minimum amount of understanding. I want to learn how the entire system works so that I can understand just what it is that I am being asked to do. I have extensive experience with Red Prairie, SAP, MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint…), Outlook, and other Manufacturing support systems (MPII, Autocad, etc…).

My extensive background in Manufacturing areas means that I understand how many Manufacturers operate. I have been to most of our Copackers and understand how they work. Inventory Control is my passion. I am very loyal and have an excellent work ethic. I am hardly ever sick, and take my time off to be most advantageous to Sun. I am Company driven as I believe that the best things I can do to make my family and home life better are those things that improve not only Sun, but my value to Sun.
