PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Schneider Electric (Foxboro), Houston, Texas

Senior Applications Engineer 1998 to 2016

• Provided technical assistance for quoting for replacement of Honeywell with Foxboro DCS at Monroe refinery, winning the project.

• Performed front end engineering design for upgrading DCS at Gulf Coast Fractionator plant, winning the project.

• Led upgrade of Foxboro I/A to Evo at Phillips 66 Gulf Coast Fractionator using migration path for replacing I/A Series 100 modules with 200 series, eliminating delays potentially resulting in high cost to organization. I properly planned and executed the site implementation tasks and got the system up and running within the scheduled time.

• Implemented advanced process control for DCP National Helium, Liberal, KS, working with the Aztec Engineering (EPC Company), improving the control scheme.

• Converted dryer sequence programs from NovaTech D/3 to Foxboro system at the DCP National Helium, improving program to check for errors and send messages, easing trouble shooting.

• Learned from coworkers and transferred knowledge to others while working on projects, advising and directing junior engineers, developing sequence strategies for the water filtration units, softeners and demineralizer units.

• Provided month long training workshop on Foxboro Configuration for the China Nuclear Control System (CNCS) engineers at the CNCS Beijing office, improving the skills of the CNCS engineers on Foxboro I/A configuration.

• Consulted several power plants and chemical industries, studying/managing alarms by analyzing data collected from the plants and generating reports identifying the problem areas. Rationalized alarms and took remedial measures, optimizing for safe and efficient operation of plants.

• Established communications between DCS and PLCs, providing onsite support for trouble shooting such communications, making process values from PLCs available to operators.

NovaTech (Formerly GSE Systems), League City, Texas Senior Application Engineer 1996-1998

• Designed and implemented continuous control & batch operations, improving operations.

GSE Systems, Columbia, Maryland

Senior Application Engineer 1990-1996

• Wrote and modified computer programs for nuclear power plant training simulators, debugging issues and upgrading the simulators.
