Aviation Maintenance Technology: I went to school for 2 years in the AMT program and studied under Dan Moore (Power plant) and Eric Borg (airframe) where I learned how to prepare and perform scheduled maintenance according to the FAA, paint and finish aircraft properly and efficiently, work constructively with sheet metal including measuring, cutting, drilling, installing and removing rivets from sheet metal, constructed composite components and repaired them after being damaged. Troubleshooting aircraft engines, interpret maintenance manuals, experience in rigging aircraft flight controls. Experience with NDI methods; visual borescope, welding inspection, liquid penetrant, dry penetrant, and eddy current. Overhauled various power plant components including; starters, carburetors, magneto’s as well as timing them to the engine, and a Rolls Royce O-200 and completed a Hot Section Inspection of a PT6 and troubleshooting of the fuel system. Performed complete annual inspections in accordance to manufacture requirements and FAR Part 43 including both Airframe (American Champion Citabria) and Power plant (Continental TSIO 520). Removal and installation of avionic systems in accordance to the maintenance manuals as well as performing a static systems leakage test required by FAR 43 Appendix E and transponder tests in accordance FAR Part 43 Appendix F. Provided electrical troubleshooting of an APU system, fire protection systems, maintenance of the engines, flight controls, hydraulic & brake systems, performed flight checks and taxiing of a Boeing 727 and various smaller aircraft, performed engine removal of a Sabreliner, and various smaller aircraft.
