ERights Solution is being implemented to the core of STeAM. The system services are exposed as APIs through RMI and Web Services. It is an eCommerce and Access Management System. As an Access Management System, it supports user management and administration of user by providing Access Rights. As an eCommerce system it allows loading contracts or orders, making subscriptions, maintains products (resources) and the licensing of user to products based on the order. The services exposed are used by the Tier1 applications within Thomson Scientific Healthcare Ltd.

Product Description:

The project is for migration of the STeAM services to be exposed through ESTI framework. ESTI is the middleware server platform designed and developed by the A&G middleware team of Thomson Reuters. It has a great deal of infrastructure available for logging, performance, database connection pooling, thread management, etc. STEAM services are deployed within the ESTI Container to be exposed services. The protocol used is XML over HTTP calls (XRPC) from the client to STEAM-in-ESTI (where the XML requests are translated to Java objects) and then RMI between STEAM-in-ESTI and STEAM-in-eRights.

Analysis of ESTI Container to migrate the existing services.
