Opto-Mechanical Manufacturing Process Engineer KLA-Tencor 10/2000 to 9/2015

Specified, designed and ordered efficiency enhancing tooling/fixtures for improved manufacturability in production and in the field utilizing BKM (Best Known Methods).

Developed, validated readiness and transferred NPI precision prototype assemblies, systems and tooling from development to production, created BOM’s, setup work flow processes and created detailed work instructions and procedures.

Led cross-functional team to transfer 2 product lines overseas before projected schedule by training manufacturing personnel, qualifying test fixtures, and setting up initial production lines.

Mechanical Process Engineer Western Digital 1997 to 1999

Launched Western Digital’s first 20GB Hard-Disk Drive Program HSA (Head Stack Assembly) for first time volume production at the Western Digital Malaysia facilities with 85% new product introduction yield rate.

Oversaw initial prototype HGA (Head Gimbal Assembly) characterization and HSA production builds and transferred new products into high-volume manufacturing.

Managed HSA projects to qualify local, overseas and related materials suppliers for volume production utilizing quality improvement via SPC/Six Sigma and First Article validation with a target yield rate of 80%.

Successfully worked within multiple project teams and suppliers on HSA designs and packaging, updated and ECO released drawings to achieve project milestones and program launch deadlines.
