ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assess and record patients’ activities and progress of patient’s condition, evaluations about their needs, and reporting to the physicians and other healthcare providers.
Observe patients doing tasks, ask them questions, and review their medical history.
Develop a treatment plan for patients, laying out the types of activities and specific goals to be accomplished.
Help people with various disabilities with different tasks, such as facilitating independency in their activities of their daily living.
Demonstrate exercises and training patients according to their goals set.
Educate a patient’s family and employer about home and workplace environmental alterations and care for the patient.
Organizing support and rehabilitation groups for care-givers and clients.
Reporting to the concerned doctor with documentations about the progress of the patient.
Supervision of students doing their bachelors in occupational therapy and training them during their clinical postings in Rehabilitation Institute.
Recommend special equipments to assist with their daily living and instruct patients on how to use that equipment
Documentation: Entering the assessment done for each patient and documentation of their weekly progress
Managing a caseload, prioritizing needs, and completing administrative tasks such as patient records
Verbal reporting about the patients to the concerned doctor during rehabilitation program and during multi- disciplinary rounds for patients on a weekly basis.
Administration of various Standardized Assessments: ADDENBROOKE'S COGNITIVE EXAMINATION - ACE-R, Wessex Head Injury Matrix (WHIM),The Galveston Orientation and Amnesia Test, Barthel Index of Activities of Daily Living, Wheel chair skills test, Spinal cord injury independence measure, to set appropriate goals and for treatment implementation of the same.
