Projects done during MS:

Prediction of flight delays due to Airport Operations (June 2016 – July 2016)

This was a data mining project. The flight delays are caused due to various reasons such as weather, Air Carrier, National Aviation System, Late-Arriving Aircraft and Security. These include one that could be controlled and also the one which are not controllable such as weather. The controllable variables such as NAS (National Aviation System) and Security was our focus of the project as it can be associated to an airport. In our study we considered 29 Major airports of USA. Our analysis involved understanding the data, and finding the possible factors that would cause the flight delay. Once the factors are set they are used in predicting the flight delays using the SAS enterprise Miner 13.2

Analysis and Design of an e-commerce website (September 2016 - )

Purpose of this project is design a reliable, secure and user friendly e-Commerce website which will enable sales and marketing of products and services online. The main objective is to attract the customers with the design of website and make profits with offering best customer services. One of the ideas of designing the e-Commerce website is to expand the business demographically and reach out to larger number of customers. The online marketing strategies will be utilized for the acquisition of new users and retention of existing users.

This system will store detailed information of products, customers and orders and also offer more flexible and easier methods of payment.

Project Name : FXM (Foreign Exchange Manager) (Production Support) Duration: September 2012 – June 2014 Client: HSBC Bank Role: System Analyst

Foreign Exchange Manager is a service that provides foreign exchange deal booking functionality to other HSBC internal systems. It provides below features for the customers. A consistent way for a customer to book a rate online from HSBC (local or central) treasury when they create an online payment for either same day processing or forward dated value. Customers are able to see the rate before they accept it and, once accepted, the rate is used for the transaction on the value date. Allowed business to define tiered preferential rate segments based on different criteria, including transaction amount, transaction type, currency type and customer type.

Responsibilities:

Analyze system inaccuracies and defects to determine the root causes and appropriate solutions.

Understand business logic for each type of foreign exchange.

Project Name: Qatar Information Exchange

Project Details:

The client is US Based Fortune 500 Company working mainly in Auto, Fire & Life insurance domain. The goal of the project is to create application for claim system. This application uses AICS architecture for development.

Claim Financials manages claim-related financial transactions necessary for claim handling processes. All financial transactions are generated from a Cause of Loss which is tied to a claim. The core financial processing includes reserving, payments, and recoveries. Various payment methods are supported including manual, recurring, Electronic Funds Transfer, and automatic payment generation without user interaction. Additionally, there are a set of administrative functions that support the core financial processing. These functions include such features as Authority, Financial Log, Financial Summary, Limit Checking, Interest calculations, Wage Loss Calculator, and medical bill calculations.

Develop Metrics and reporting for customer communication in various services like Deliver, Capture, Design/Manage, and Store/View. Work with EPMA (partner) to capture date from each data source for reporting needs.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for creating and reviewing business requirements, functional specifications, project.
