July 2016
I am extremely interested in applying for a teaching position in history on the middle or high school level. As my resume indicates, I have 21 years of teaching experience, in US History, World History, European History and Russian History. In addition I was a History Department Chair for 14 years in Round Rock.
My goal in my life, since I was 6 years of age, has been to be a teacher. I taught children in my neighborhood, swimming lessons for 8 summers in Northern Michigan, tutored students in college and taught summer school. For me, teaching is a passion, not a job.
I have maintained a professional relationship with my principals, administrators and colleagues, and developed lasting friendships with many of the people with whom I have had the pleasure to work. I set high expectations for myself in work and in my personal life. For that reason, I have taken many courses through the years in education and in history specifically. I consider myself to be a lifelong learner.
At Trinity University I took 18 hours each semester simply because I love learning. I have degrees in World History, European History, and United States History. At Kansas University I earned a master’s degree in Soviet and East European Studies.
I enjoy working with people of all ages. I believe strongly in synergy, cooperation and integrity. And, I strive to do the best that I can in all areas of my life.
I want to thank you for considering me as you make decisions on the history position for your school.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Quigg
