Summary

Self-motivated statistician/data analyst with solid training in theory and practice of statistics. Proficient in experimental design and development, data analysis and interpretation, report writing and presentations of results at group meetings and conferences. Productive independent researcher with excellent communication and team skills. Possesses strong analytical and organizational skills.

Technical Expertise

• Statistical Skills

statistical modeling(regression, ANOVA, etc.)

statistical consulting, reports writing

design of experiments

data visualization

• Programming and Software

SAS/Advance, SAS/Macro

R, Python

SAS/GRAPH, ODS Graphics

• Other

research experience in drug discovery, knowledge of clinical trial phases Professional Experience

Independent Contractor, Research Assistant, Department of Statistics, Stanford University, 10/2015 – 08/2016 Performed statistical programming and analysis on the ongoing research by Professors Richard Olshen and Lu Tian:

• Implemented statistical algorithms for a clonal expansion estimator in R, ran simulations to realize the comparison of the true values and our estimates, and evaluated the estimator performance.

• Further developed the R package lymphclon, examined variance estimation method, and revised the underlying distribution for a better estimator of the clonality score in a broad ecological context.

Research Associate/Data Analyst, Department of Sociology, Stanford University, 03/2016 – 06/2016 Collaborated on Longitudinal Study of Employer Pensions, cleaned, prepared and analyzed data:

• Cleaned 50GB unstructured pension-plan data from the Department of Labor and explored data using SAS.

• Built a panel dataset (1980-2015) using R, merged and integrated the pension-plan data with bankruptcy datasets. Found significant results of 401k adoption rate in different bankruptcy levels.

• Restructured data, built survival models of 401k adoption and identified its significant predictors. Statistical Consultant, Statistical Consulting Center, Pennsylvania State University, 06/2016 – 08/2016 Delivered statistical analysis and research, presented results with information visualization and suggestion:

• Explored and determined important health care resources and lifestyle factors of population health status.

• Applied logistic regression analysis to investigate the association of tumor thickness, gender and the survival status of melanoma patients, compared different models and found the best model to predict the survival status.

• Investigated the effects of oil brand and age on quality of fries with ANOVA model and residual diagnostic technique, conducted multiple linear regression analysis and identified important correlations.

Graduate Research Fellow, Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute (SBP), 01/2011 – 06/2015

• Calculated and displayed 3-D protein structures using Python, studied functions of proteins with spectroscopy and screened small-molecule drugs. The structure was deposit into Protein Data Bank (Code: 2N2L).

• Designed experiments, wrote reports and future plans, and presented results with internal and external audiences

• Manipulated, processed, displayed and analyzed multidimensional data My work has led to several papers published in peer-reviewed journals, and contributed to the acquisition of a research project grant from the National Institutes of Health.
