Project Engineer:

Site Engineer- Supervising the site works to make sure all the elements of construction are as per the shop drawings. Field tests, approval of subcontractor work.

Site Surveying: Coordinating with the site surveyor, plotting the total station points on AutoCAD-These drawing was plotted on the shop drawings to see if there were any deviations in construction. The coordinates for the structural were taken from drawings converted into the total station points & distributed among the surveyors & site supervisors.

Project Budgeting - Monthly detailed spread sheet which includes the construction cost, revenue and profit margin for accounting purpose. The construction cost is analyzed in detail for the labor cost, material cost & equipment cost.

P6- Project Planning, Monitoring & Scheduling:

Developed and maintained CPM, resource loaded schedules.

Updated all schedules on a monthly basis with percent complete and monitored all activities in assigned areas.

Used reports tools in Primavera to give Project Manager necessary information (resource amounts, dates, etc.) on all critical milestones.

Provided resource loaded schedules in P6 for repair projects updated daily, bi-weekly, weekly (or as the job required).

Identified critical path items and provided upper management the necessary info regarding slippages and manpower needs to maintain critical path items.

Provided weekly job cost reports based on budgets issued to planned items within each job's plan.

Issued plans for every foreman for items on the job, provided status to their overhead items, and provided manning weekly, based on performance that had been achieved within their plans.

Earned value Analysis is done (calculation of BCWS, ACWS, BCWP, ACWP). Physical progress is obtained from updating the Material type resource on P6. This further evaluated to find out the Schedule variance. The Cost variance is calculated from the spread sheet in which the cost codes are distributed among all the disciplines (Store, Quantity Surveyor, Admin & HR, Mechanical and Electrical etc.) The Actual cost is compared with the BCWP to find the cost variance.

Construction claims: For claims purpose the documents was collected

Change of scope request, weather reports, client delay correspondences, Primavera has been used to draw a comparison between actual verses planned. The delays due to various parties has been incorporated to find the actual delay to the end date of the project (whether the delay in critical path or not, if not within the accepted float).

A through documentation needed for the project as the Contract model is based on the FIDIC red book type in spite contractor has control on the design, workmanship and material. Client provisions such as clearance of site, clearance of local government, approval of material, the degree of change order, time frame on acceptance/rejection of proposal and more have potential to delay the overall project.
