As the Quality Management Representative and Accreditation Co-ordinator of Manipal Hospital (650 bedded multispecialty Hospital) was looking after the accreditation of all hospitals of Manipal Group and preparing them for ISO and NABH Accreditation besides streamlining the operations and the administrative functions of the hospital by assisting the Medical Director & COO in the day to day operations of the hospital. As part of process re-engineering re-designed existing processes to improve the patient flow of the hospital.

Worked in the hospital project till the commissioning of the facilities and conducted feasibility study, including infrastructure, equipment planning and procurement, manpower planning, and development of operational protocols and policies. My profile was to develop, implement, co-ordinate, establish and evaluate management systems so as to render smooth operations besides adding up new services for the hospital.
Achievements :
1.Conducted feasibility study, coordinated negotiations with prospective partners, keeping a track and resolving issues related to civil construction, electrical work, air conditioning work, PHE work, telephone and computer networking, flooring furniture and fixtures, interior plan etc. suited to the needs of a hospital, played a key role in furniture, equipment and manpower planning, planning and procurement of medicines, consumables, stationary, linen and all other items needed for a hospital and finally, evolving systems for the functioning of the hospital and streamlining and regularizing operational modalities.

My job was to look after the overall functioning of the hospital including patient care and administration. All the respective departmental heads of the hospital reported to me. I was reporting to the Managing Director and was responsible for providing proper patient care services, arranging continuous medical education, liaising with consultants and the management board, maintaining the proper decorum and code of conduct of the staff in the hospital, establish corporate empanelment, maintain human resource development, develop marketing strategies according to the priorities of the hospital, and exercise purchasing and inventory control.
Achievements :
1.Negotiating with the suppliers of high value consumable and consignment items, the prices have been brought down by thereby increasing the margin for the hospital.
2.By putting a control on and monitoring the purchase decisions including the consumption of consumables, disposables and pilferage of stationeries the operational cost was brought down substantially.
